“Before I came to Train & Earn-Industrial, I felt like the world had already made its mind up about me. With a felony on my record —a gun charge— I thought my chances of building a better life were gone. I was constantly met with closed doors, judgment, and rejection. But this program saw something in me that I had almost forgotten was there: potential.
The Train & Earn-Industrial program didn’t just offer me an internship; they offered me a second chance. They gave me the support, structure, and guidance I needed to move forward. Through their help, I earned my OSHA 30, Flagging Certification, and Site Safety Training (SST). But they didn’t stop there.
They sat with me and helped me craft a professional resume, something I had never had before. They coached me on how to present myself in interviews, how to speak about my past with honesty but also with hope. They prepared me for what the real world expects, and, more importantly, they helped me believe that I had something valuable to offer.
This experience gave me more than just skills; it gave me a sense of purpose. For the first time in a long time, I feel like I’m building something solid for my future. I’m no longer just surviving; I’m moving forward with direction and dignity.
