Charles spent much of his life searching for love, acceptance, security, and a place to belong. Through broken relationships, addiction, disappointment, and years of trying to find fulfillment in everything but God, he eventually reached a place where he had nowhere else to turn.
Then he encountered Jesus.
Charles discovered that Jesus wasn’t another person who would reject him, judge him, or walk away when he failed. Jesus knew every hurt, every mistake, every selfish choice, and every broken part of his story—and still drew near to him.
That is the goodness of Jesus. He doesn’t just want to change our circumstances; He wants a relationship with us. He meets us in our brokenness, reminds us that we are loved, and calls us into a new life with Him.
Today, Charles is learning that he doesn’t have to run from his past or hide behind who he thought he needed to be. He can simply be Charles—and walk with Jesus.
Jesus is real. His love is real. His grace is real. And no matter how far we’ve wandered, He is still willing to draw near.
Psalm 145:18: "The LORD is near to all who call on him, to all who call on him in truth."
