Look who just hatched! 🌱🐛

So why do we raise them you ask?

Well, In the wild, monarch eggs and tiny first-instar caterpillars face incredible odds. Between predators (like spiders, ants, and wasps) and harsh weather, only a very small percentage of eggs actually make it to adulthood. By bringing in milkweed leaves with eggs, we can give them a safe environment during their most vulnerable stages, ensure they have a steady supply of fresh food, and greatly increase their chances of surviving, chrysalis-forming, and taking flight as healthy monarchs!

We can't wait to watch this tiny speck grow over the next few weeks. Stay tuned for updates on their journey! 🦋 #🦋

Our “feral” foster, the mom of our 2 black foster kittens captured at the East Side projects, is showing more and more she’s not just a sterilize & release / TNR more and more every day. Even tho she didn't trust the phone at all, just look at this pretty girl’s progress! 👏👏 ゚
