Old Colony YMCA serves 31 communities in Southeastern Massachusetts with programs for all ages and abilities, designed to build healthy spirits, minds and bodies. Programs include fitness, after-school enrichment, summer camps, residential treatment for youth, senior wellness, and more. All activities stress positive values that enrich the individual, strengthen the family, and enhance the quality

of life for all members of the community. As one of the largest human service providers in Southeastern Massachusetts, we serve over 121,000 children and families each year. Dedicated to supporting the development of each individual's healthy body, mind, and spirit, we provide services without regard to income, race, s*x, religion, or physical ability.

Tom Higginbotham has been an Old Colony YMCA member since 2010. 🙌 Over the last 16 years, Tom has made many friends at the Y and loves the atmosphere here. 🏡Tom says that he chooses the Y over other gyms because of the community, staff, and other members. “Plus it’s a REAL gym”.

Yesterday, we officially broke ground on the Sheehan-Cortelli Family Early Learning Center at the Plymouth YMCA!

Funding for this project is the result of a generous donation from Maureen and Gerald Sheehan and a Congressionally Directed Award through the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD).

Thank you to Congressman William Keating for joining us yesterday and for helping secure this important federal award for Plymouth families. We also appreciate the continued partnership of Senator Dylan Fernandes and Representatives Michelle Badger and Kathleen LaNatra.

This project would not be possible without the dedication of so many individuals and partners, including Maureen and Gerry Sheehan, Howard Randall, Old Colony YMCA Board Members, the Plymouth YMCA Board of Governors, A.D. Makepeace/Redbrook, DJSA Architects, AP Whitaker and Sons, and our Plymouth YMCA staff led by Cristina Wilson.

Once completed, the new spaces will expand child care access for local families, create new gathering and wellness spaces, and help the Old Colony YMCA continue growing alongside the South Plymouth community.

Charlie Swanson is truly one of our YMCA icons! A proud and dedicated member since 2003, Charlie considers our Brockton branch his second home— and it shows in everything he does. He brings incredible energy and positivity to every single group exercise class our branch offers, never missing a chance to participate, encourage others, and lend a helping hand.

Charlie’s commitment, spirit, and willingness to support those around him make him an inspiring part of our YMCA community. We are so grateful to have him! ( #📷 )
