This is a great opportunity for individuals, families, and caregivers to learn more about available DDS services and supports, ask questions, and better understand how to access resources.

🌞 A Great Way to Start the Day at AGB! 💪

We kicked off a brand-new initiative at The Arc of Greater Brockton today called Movement in the Morning!

Participants and staff gathered in Champions Hall to get moving, stretch their muscles, and start the day with some exercise, energy, and plenty of smiles!

It's a fun new way to bring everyone together, promote healthy habits, and get the day started on a positive note. And judging by the enthusiasm in the room, we're off to a great start!

Ten AGB participants (and two staff members) visited the Massachusetts State House today for the 2026 National Disability Employment Awareness Month Celebration!

Our group toured the State House and joined advocates, policymakers, employers, and organizations from across Massachusetts for a celebration of employment, inclusion, and opportunity for people of all abilities. We were glad to hear remarks from legislators who are championing the inclusion movement. And we had the pleasure of meeting Senator Robyn Kennedy (D-Worcester), one of the inclusion movement's biggest allies, and took a photo with her.

The day also gave us an opportunity to reconnect with former Arc of Massachusetts CEO Leo Sarkisian before wrapping up the trip with lunch together at Chick-Fil-A.

It was a great day of learning and advocacy. And it was another opportunity for our participants to see firsthand how their voices and experiences connect to the work taking place at the state legislature.

🎓 Congratulations to Christian, Xavier, Dawn, Nichole, Joanni, Amy, Dylan, Danny, and Dennis, the newest graduates of The Arc of Greater Brockton’s Culinary Arts Program! We’re incredibly proud of everything they accomplished throughout the program.

The celebration also featured former graduate Angelo sharing his experience and discussing his kitchen position at Copley at Stoughton, Sergio Brice singing “The Climb,” Amy Lataille performing the National Anthem, and a special performance by the Young Men’s Crew. We welcomed family and friends of the graduates as well as members of the community. Shout out to Brockton state representative Michelle DuBois for attending. Thank you to everyone who helped make the graduation so memorable!

On Wednesday, our entire AGB program came together to celebrate the life of Marla Sarai Cordero Vallejo, a beloved Day Hab participant who recently passed away.

Joined by Marla’s parents, we shared stories and cherished memories of the happiness she brought into our lives. There were smiles as we remembered the moments that made Marla so special. And most of us shed tears as we reflected on how deeply she will be missed.

We planted a tree here in her honor. It will stand as a living tribute to Marla and her impact on us. Marla will always remain a treasured part of our Arc family.

Today, members of The Arc of Greater Brockton’s Rotaract Club gathered in Champions Hall for “The Great Debate,” an interactive activity focused on expressing opinions, listening to others, and disagreeing respectfully. Participants responded to a series of questions by moving to different areas of the room based on their answers and then explaining the reasons behind their choices.

The activity produced plenty of laughter and a wonderful discussion involving everyone in the room. We talked about everything from which superpower we'd find most valuable (the ability to read minds won by a plurality of votes) to how to best make someone feel more included in a group.

Last Saturday, some of our CBDS participants joined us for a makeup day at The Arc of Greater Brockton and spent part of the day making their own pizzas! 🍕

It was a fun way to make up missed program time while also working on cooking skills, following directions, teamwork, and, of course, enjoying the finished product.
