🎓 Congratulations to James Chavula, who has officially graduated from the University of Malawi with a Bachelor of Social Science in Gender Studies! 🎉

For James, the WMI scholarship was more than financial support; it was a vote of confidence in his potential and a gateway to achieving his academic dreams.

Now, as he steps into this new chapter, James is looking forward to using the knowledge and skills he has gained to drive positive change in his community.

🎉 20 years of dreaming, planning, and doing!

At the Dream Big Conference, we also celebrated 20 years of WMI and the people who have made this journey possible. From a gigantic anniversary cake to meaningful recognition for scholars, founders, board members, volunteers, and others who have helped grow and support WMI through the years, the evening was filled with gratitude and celebration. 💙

Some special guests also received signed copies of Founder Tom Wells’ book, Dream. Plan. Do.: The Wells Mountain Initiative Story, 2005–2025, a reflection on WMI’s journey and the many people who have shaped it along the way.

Until We Meet Again 💙

As Dream Big Conference 2026 comes to a close, our scholars are beginning their journeys home—some today and others tomorrow. While it’s hard to say goodbye, we’re leaving this week filled with gratitude for the incredible community that made it possible.

More than 200 WMI scholars from around the world gathered in Nairobi alongside our staff, Board, Advisory Board, volunteers, and partners to learn, connect, celebrate, and dream boldly together.

This week reminded us that the WMI community is so much more than a scholarship. It is a lifelong network of exceptional people who believe in one another, invest in one another, and are committed to creating change in their communities and around the world.

To every scholar who joined us: thank you for bringing your stories, your ideas, your joy, and your dreams.

May you return home inspired, encouraged, and ready to put your vision into action.
