Be sure to join in the festivities tomorrow night at Bristol Best Night! Buttons on sale now at local merchants and online at bristolbestnight.org

The Bristol Best Night Committee is hard at work organizing a great New Year's Eve celebration at Holley Hall. A roaring 20's jazz club will be the scene for the night, including our fabulous final act with Scarlet Annie's Jazz Quartet. Dressing up is not required, but wouldn't it be fun?

Come with money and an appetite so you can enjoy the delicious Guatemalan street food that will be on sale all evening.

See the website for the whole schedule, starting with kids' activities at 3:30. bristolbestnight.org.

Buttons are on sale at the reduced pre-sale price of $10.00 at Cubber's, Kimball's, Art on Main, Emerald Rose, Minifactory, and Recycled Reading. They are also available on-line on the website.

See you there!

The Watershed Center has been a place for many in the Five Towns to fit much-needed outdoor time into their days while sticking close to home. TWC will celebrate the 25th anniversary of acquiring and conserving the Waterworks property in 2022! You'll see much more about this milestone after the New Year but in the meantime we are excited to have the assistance of TWC board member Kelly Hamshaw's senior capstone class from UVM in getting us started with reflecting on the last 25 years of TWC. Stay tuned!

Students in CDAE 271: Local Community Initiatives recently visited The Watershed Center VT, the class' community partner for the semester. As part of their service-learning project, the students are documenting how the organization has impacted the community in preparation for their 25th anniversary next year.

"We're exploring how the community came together to save this piece of land for conservation, recreation and community building," said Kelly Hamshaw, senior lecturer in Community Development and Applied Economics (CDAE) at UVM who teaches the course.

As the temperatures rise and fall (and rise again!) during the transition from winter to spring, our trails become vulnerable to damage. To protect the ecological integrity of the land we ask that folks consider refraining from visiting and using the trails during this transition time. Please consider other local options for outdoor recreation when our trails are not fully frozen, contain surface-layer frost, or conditions are wet and muddy. We love seeing our community enjoying the land but for this transition time we need to be very mindful of our collective impacts on the land. Thank you very much for your cooperation!

Thanks to Vermont Family Forests for a great write up and some excellent photos documenting the ongoings with our resident beavers and simultaneous efforts to keep the land open and accessible to us all. Thanks to all our volunteers for the time invested this fall!

Despite the little bit of incoming snow, it's starting to green up out at the Waterworks and has made for some wonderful forest scenery lately. Thanks to Anne Majusiak for sharing the photos! Let's fill our newsfeed with beautiful photos of the Waterworks during this chaotic time - send us your photos!
