Not to instill fear, but to promote precaution, the Vermont Dept. of Health is advising Vermonters in high risk locations to avoid being bit by mosquitoes due to a surfacing of cases and prevalence of EEE virus. That is Equine Encephalitis Virus which can cause serious illness to people and animals including horses which is where the disease gets its name.

Precautionary measures include staying inside between 6 p.m. and 6 a.m. to avoid mosquito habitat, and also to wear repellent. These precautions are especially important for the immune compromised, and EEE virus causes serious illness in less than 5% of people but has a high mortality rate.

I would further add to keep healthy, as our immune system is our primary line of defense, and avoid getting colds if possible.

Get plenty of sunshine ahead of the cold season and stay stress free. But do be safe.

Alburgh, Burlington, Colchester and Swanton are the areas identified as having the highest risk for mosquitoes carrying eastern equine encephalitis virus, or EEEV, following extensive testing this season.

Hello good people,

First thank you for liking and following this page. It reached 1k likes somewhat recently despite not posting much.

The reason I haven't posted much here, or developed the Northeastern Lyme Foundation, is because my attention has been focused on my company Plantaecure.com, which also is rooted in the Lyme disease pandemic.

Over the last five years I've developed a line of tick and insect repellents that provide protection to people, dogs, cats and horses, and they are currently only for sale in the state of Vermont.

Through Plantaecure I hope to best address the Lyme disease pandemic, and the chronic illness era at large. I have my own philosophy of care that keeps we well and I intend to extend my practice and methodologies to the public.

I have a vision of products that I hope to create over the coming years that support my POC and which address 21st century health issues.

I have always had big goals, and I've always had an interest in the holistic health sciences, and since contracting Lyme in 2018 I have been fully immersed in the field of medicine.

I want to invite you to join me in my efforts by connecting with my social media pages, and perhaps even buying or selling my New Solutions Insect Repellents.

I have big goals for this company and the Plantaecure community will have first rights to any opportunities. We're working on a newsletter to keep you informed.

Please check us out at plantaecure.com, and if you have any interest in helping run this page or advancing the Northeastern Lyme Foundation please let me know.

I hold great conviction as to how people can actually get better, and attain optimal health, and I want you to share in this journey with me.

We need to be there for each other and have a strong sense of community, support and direction in order to face the great medical challenges of our time.

All the best,
Hope to see you around.
Sincerely,
Ash

So it’s not a myth, ticks will quest when the temperatures are somewhere just above freezing. Appears to have been feeding for a few days so not sure what the temp was at the time but the date now is January 3rd, when I found and removed this adult female deer tick from my cat just now. This means we have to wear repellent in the dead of winter when temperatures are above freezing. Also, there was no snow on the ground.
