Congratulations Dr Stacy Onofrietti, recipient of ADHA Foundation's Mars Snacking Foundation Grant

Dr. Onofrietti, along with Dr. Elisa Velazquez and the Hispanic dental association, have developed and advanced their access to care program for migrant children. These are the children of the farmers that are here legally to help attend to our farms, not only in New Jersey, but in areas of our nation so that produce the food that we need. This program helps keep these children out of the ER. Preventative treatment along with oral health and nutrition education is provided, as well as oral health products for them to use at home. 🦷🏛️ NJDHA’s 2nd Lobby Day is in the books!

We may have been a small group, but we were MIGHTY! 💪🏼 Thank you to our NJDHA leadership who showed up, spoke up, and represented New Jersey’s dental hygienists at the State House!

A special thank you to our lobbyist, Paul Bent, for organizing the day, preparing us for our meetings, and helping us navigate the legislative process.

We are incredibly grateful for the opportunity to meet with so many New Jersey legislators and their offices, including Assemblywoman Carol Murphy, Senator Joseph Vitale, Senator Owen Henry, Assemblywoman Linda Carter, Assemblywoman Aura Dunn, Assemblywoman Margie Donlon, Assemblyman Anthony Angelozzi, Assemblywoman Rosaura Bagolie, Assemblywoman Shama Haider, Assemblyman Rob Clifton, Senator Patrick Diegnan, Senator Gordon Johnson, Assemblyman William Sampson, and Assemblyman Avi Schnall.

Our conversations focused on two legislative priorities supported by NJDHA: 🦷 the Dentist and Dental Hygienist Compact and 🦷 dental therapy legislation.

Advocacy starts with showing up and NJDHA will continue making sure the voice of dental hygienists is heard in Trenton! 🗣️🦷

President Pam and Immediate Past President Stacy joined fellow Hygienist Inspired NJ Ambassador Marylou at the American Dental Hygienists' Association Hygienist Inspired booth, sharing their passion for dental hygiene and inspiring the next generation! Stacy also took the stage for a Hygienist Inspired Lunch & Learn panel. ✨

And of course, it wouldn’t be complete without seeing some familiar NJ faces: including Past President Sue and Past President & former CFO Becky!
