It has been a while since our last update; this reflects the lack of new information to share until now. Tim’s condition has continued to slowly worsen. He is experiencing increased fluid buildup (ascites) related to liver failure, which has made even everyday tasks increasingly difficult and caused his energy levels to plummet. Over the weekend, he was admitted to the hospital.

After much discussion among his infectious disease doctors, interventional radiologists, and liver team, a decision has been made to place a stent in his left hepatic duct (where angioplasty was performed six weeks ago). The procedure is scheduled for tomorrow (12/18).

The primary concern is the risk of infection, given the proximity of the stent to his abscess. Should the new stent become infected, Tim would be left with only one functioning liver duct, and his condition could deteriorate very quickly.

Above all, prayer is greatly needed:

· for the upcoming delicate procedure

· for relief from the ascites

· for renewed strength

· for a return to the ability to eat (which has been hindered by pressure from the fluid buildup)

· that a liver transplant would come soon

· that he would be able to return home by Christmas.

We trust that God is sovereign over every detail of this situation and that He is not distant from our needs. Even in this season of uncertainty, we rest in His care.

Thank you for continuing to lift Tim up in prayer and for walking with us through this long process. We will share further updates as more information becomes available.

Tim recently had a second-opinion appointment at Johns Hopkins Hospital regarding his liver condition. The appointment went well, but no decisions have been made yet. The doctors are reviewing all the information from that visit before giving their recommendations on next steps.

Thank you all for your continued love, prayers, and care for Tim and Geneva during this trial. Tim has an appointment at Johns Hopkins in Baltimore on Monday, September 15. While the family trusts Tim’s current doctors, the Penn transplant team advised seeking a second opinion. Please pray for wisdom for the doctors and, if the Lord wills, encouraging news. Nothing is impossible with God, and we rest in His love and mercy.

Thank you for all your prayers for Tim and Geneva! They recently met with Tim’s doctors and received some very encouraging news! While the situation remains complex, the abscess in Tim’s lung has shrunk by about 15–20% in response to antibiotics. This likely means thoracic surgery won’t be necessary, allowing them to move forward in the process of pursuing a liver transplant.

Praise God for this wonderful news, and please continue to pray that a suitable liver donor will be found soon.

Today is the day Tim goes in to have his scheduled MRI. Please pray that the MRI images will provide doctors with the insight they need to determine the best treatment for the abscesses, so that the path toward a liver transplant becomes clear. Tim expects to receive the results at his doctor’s appointment next week. Please also continue to pray that a liver donor is identified soon. His family continues to rest in the promises from our Lord.

“Let us then with confidence draw near to the throne of grace, that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need.” Hebrews 4:16

Praise the Lord! Two individuals who were tested as potential living liver donors for Tim are now moving on to the next phase of evaluation. While we don’t have additional details at this time, we’re grateful for this encouraging development.

Please continue to pray for Tim, especially as he undergoes an MRI on July 3 to assess the status of the abscesses in his abdomen and to determine the best course of treatment.

Thank you for remembering Tim and his family in prayer. We will update as we find out more.

Thank you for your continued patience as we await updates and your love and concern for Tim and his family. As much as we would love to have answers quickly, we are learning that this process moves slowly—while we learn to rest in the Lord’s perfect timing.

Please be in prayer for an important appointment this Wednesday (5/21), when Tim will meet with his thoracic doctor to determine a coordinated plan with his transplant team. The complications reported a few weeks ago were found to be the result of two abscesses; one on the liver and another believed to be perforating the diaphragm. Doctors now believe these issues will need to be addressed during the liver transplant surgery itself, which will likely result in a more complex operation, the coordination of two teams of doctors, and a longer recovery.

Tim continues to work daily, managing ongoing fatigue while also caring for his family. The deacons of their church are working closely with the family to navigate insurance and short-term disability avenues and prepare for any future financial challenges.

We continue to wait for word from the hospital about a potential donor and a confirmed match. The family is deeply thankful for your support and prayers. God is good and will provide exactly what is needed in His perfect time.
