Troop 1 Scouts BSA, Bridgeton, NJ

Today Lukas H., led fellow TroopOne Bridgeton members, on his Eagle Scout Service Project. This project holds a very special place in his heart for our local Upper Deerfield Township School community. Like many other Troop 1 Scouts BSA, Bridgeton, NJ members, he has attended UDTS since early childhood. He wanted to give back to a place that gave a lot to him.

He spoke with Dr.Koza & Mr. Hill about what they needed at Upper Deerfield Schools. There are three benches, one for each of the three school buildings, for students to use when waiting for rides to pick them up. He will also be leading the construction of a new podium special for Woodruff School.

What a great use of a day off from school doing something for the community. Here with Troop One members who are always about cheerful service and helping those in need. Especially for our school systems that have dedicated years of time and energy to help our youth be the best they can be. We look forward to the completion of Lukas's Eagle Scout Service Project and seeing it used in their forever home at UDTS. Another job well done. 👏 💪🦅⚜️✨️

🤎 The Drama Medal has been passed down from person to person in the Drama Department since 2002.

Summer camp & NYLT 2026 post still loading ...🔋...

But before the full summer recap, please take a moment to recognize and congratulate our Honor Camper from Troop 1 Scouts BSA, Bridgeton, NJ summer camp 2026, Ockanickon PA.

Robert Sheppard Jr. is a scout who truely embodies the scout oath and law- especially when no one is looking. Quiet by nature (unless you ask him about his recent sunset/rise photos or a new phone or game release) he generally will take an "off stage" role over being a lead- but- ask him about anyone in the troop and he can tell you about what they enjoy (or don't). Someone having a hard time, feels lonely, or needs help? RJ is there... without being asked. Community Service opportunity? No big deal (15,000 lbs of produce picked as a team in 85°+ heat later, still a smile and joke ready). Crowded halls at school? Still making friends and supporting others with a smile.

Its often easy to overlook the quiet helpers... but it is one of the greatest joys as troop leadership to be able to recognize a scout- unanimously from youth and adult input- who is living the oath and law fully without expecting anything in return. Leading through service.
RJ is a scout who makes the hours of preparation, planning, and programing by adult and youth leadership worth every second. He quietly strives to make everyone feel successful and included (whether he realizes it or not) and lives his life in genuinely cheerful service to his community.

Congratulations RJ. Troop 1 is proud to have you in our ranks- wherever your scouting journey takes you.
