The Victoria Ciara Foundation, Inc. We exist to enhance the lives of individuals and families impacted by Congenital Heart Disease (CHD). WHAT IS CONGENITAL HEART DISEASE? HOW PREVALANT IS IT?

Congenital Heart Disease is one or more abnormalities of the heart, present at birth, with the most complex diagnoses requiring surgery within the first few months of life. There is no cure, only surgical interventions and medications that give babies the best chance to grow into adulthood. In fact, many individuals require multiple surgeries within their lifetime. There are an estimated 1.3 milli

on adults living with CHD in American alone, with another 40,000 babies born with it every year. The prevalence continues to grow at about 5% each year, unlike other defects whose frequency remains stable. We believe it is due to the lack of awareness and funding. WHY DOES THIS FOUNDATION EXIST? We feel it is time we thrive as a community, shedding light on the need to support each other and raise awareness for research and wrap-around support. We look forward to offering the chance to socialize and connect with others who have been touched by CHD as well as the following services:
-financial support in the form of gift cards (hospital cafeteria, gas, grocery stores)
-connections and gifts cards to massage therapists and acupuncturists
-linkage to resources that help guide us through times of stress
-opportunities to mentor and be mentored by others who have traveled along the same path
