On 19 June 2026, Kaleke Kasome Foundation convened a Menstrual Health & Justice Dialogue bringing together religious, cultural and district leaders with student Menstrual Health Champions to promote menstrual dignity and girls' well-being.

The dialogue reaffirmed that ending menstrual stigma requires collective action. Religious and cultural leaders committed to using their platforms to challenge myths, misconceptions and harmful beliefs surrounding menstruation.

The Child and Family Protection Unit (CFPU) encouraged students to stay focused on their education, avoid early sexual activity, and understand the risks of defilement, teenage pregnancy and school dropout. Leaders were also encouraged to organize educational visits to children's remand homes to help young people better understand the consequences of crime.

The District Inspector of Schools called on schools to prioritize menstrual health by ensuring access to clean, girl-friendly sanitation facilities, including standard latrines, bathrooms and properly designed incinerators for safe menstrual waste disposal.

Together, we are creating safer schools, informed communities and a future where every girl can manage her menstruation with dignity. 💙

As part of our post-commemoration activities for the International Day of the African Child, we conducted a school outreach at Nseke Primary C/U to raise awareness about childhood sexual violence.

We engaged learners on:
1. Preventing childhood sexual violence through awareness and personal safety.

2. Healing and psychosocial support for survivors.

3. Seeking justice by encouraging children and communities to report abuse through the appropriate channels.

Every child deserves to grow up safe, protected, and heard. Together, we can end violence against children and build safer schools and communities.

In a bid to normalise discussion on menstrual health and justice, we brought together Interfaith Leaders, Cultural Leaders and Mpigi District Local Government Leaders at Kaleke Kasome Foundation offices - KAKAF Children Center.

The engagement was attended by 30 menstrual Health Champions selected from 3 schools.

Participants realized that working in collaboration is the only way to eliminate stigma and amplify girls/women voices on issues affecting their social and economic welfare.

The Inspector of Schools Mpigi promised to monitor and reinforce all government programs under WASH in schools and requested KAKAF to move to more schools and disseminate such positively impactful information to especially adolescents and caretakers.

Comemorating "International Day of the African Child" in a special way with pupils of Umae Primary School, as we engaged them in different topics around understanding childhood sexual violence, prevention, healing and justice for survivors.

With the right knowledge and skills, children are able to develop personal security skills as well as be able to speak up incase of abuse.
