Sometimes a job is a perfect fit ... except it's really hard to show up on time. Or some physical accommodations would make a world of difference.
Chamber member HireAbility Vermont is a state agency that supports anyone with a disability (broadly encompassing physical limitations but also PTSD, anxiety, ADHD, and more) who wants to explore or expand career paths, work with their employer to make their current job a better fit, or just work personally on career growth and success.
in 2022, HireAbility became the new name for the Vermont Division of Vocational Rehabilitation, helping to kick off a national trend for strengths-focused career supports for folks with disabilities. They were proud to tell me Massachusetts's vocational rehabilitation agency rebranded in 2024 to become MassAbility.
They are also conveners of the Windham Workforce Partners, a regional collaborative network designed to connect local employers, educational systems, and state labor programs, with the shared goal of building inclusive employment pathways, coordinating regional training, and providing custom hiring pipelines.
