Front Range Rescue Dogs

Front Range Rescue Dogs is a volunteer group committed to providing canine search teams to missing persons.

Founded in 1984, Front Range Rescue Dogs is an experienced and dynamic non-profit volunteer group committed to providing competent canine search and rescue teams to missing person emergencies. FRRD teams work primarily in Boulder County, but have been requested to assist on searches throughout Colorado and neighboring states. We certify teams in Wilderness Air Scent, Trailing, Avalanche, Evidence, Disaster, HRD and Water. The group is available to respond 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. FRRD is dispatched by the Boulder County Sheriff's Department.

So grateful for a dunk tank on a warm summer Saturday. 🎾 💦 (and also Rusty's bday cookies...those were a hit for the K9s!)

We always enjoy hanging with our community partners and meeting new friends, both two-legged and four-legged.

FRRD is saddened to share the passing of Ki, beloved partner to FRRD Emeritus member April.
Ki was a dedicated Human Remains Detection (HRD) dog and a valued member of our search-and-rescue community. Her years of service alongside April will always be remembered.
May you have plenty of balls and toys over the rainbow bridge, Ki. 🌈🐾❤️

Team bonding, hours of fun training scenarios, gorgeous mountain sunsets, a gas-fueled campfire in an ammo box, Jenny Paddock's famous sourdough pancakes, and training navigation skills with paper maps. FRRD Camping Weekend 2026🏕️

What a great turnout at National Night Out this Tuesday! We had a blast sharing the community vibes and spreading safety awareness. Cheers to our partners Boulder County Sheriff’s Office for hosting such an awesome event 👏 🐕

Yesterday’s mission came with a bonus plot twist: weather rerouted the helicopter to a different airport on the way back. 😅

Cheers to our rockstar "Uber” driver for switching the pick up location without missing a beat. (Turns out we didn't really need helmets for this leg of the journey)
5 stars, would ride again. 🚁➡️🚗

But seriously…massive shoutout to Jenny Paddock 🙌 A great reminder that you don’t have to be in the field to be mission-critical.

We’re fortunate to be part of a SAR community that values training alongside our response partners.

Clear communication and collaboration help us work more efficiently when it counts. We had a very successful training this weekend, identifying ways to combine our skills with technologies like drones, to improve effectiveness in the field.

Understanding each other’s strengths makes us more effective for those we serve. 💪 🐾
