Tick season sure ain’t what it used to be. Warmer winters are causing the tick population to increase. They’re even spreading into higher elevations and new regions. The risk is real, and if you like to go outside, you may be noticing the trends first hand.

Climate change isn’t some distant future problem. Sometimes it looks like rising seas, other times it looks like checking your legs after a walk with your dog in your neighborhood.

Stay tick safe. Check your pets and yourself right after a jaunt outside, wear pants and tall socks (a look), and use repellant when needed.

All memes aside, the Arctic needs our help!

Oil and Gas Lease sale nominations for the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge are open through June 3rd.

Drilling is not guaranteed, each company that secures a bid will have to go through a federal permitting process, so now it's time to apply pressure to Congress.

Arctic drilling won’t lower gas prices at the pump, it will only irreversibly damage one of the last intact ecosystems on earth.

Tell your representatives to pass the Arctic Refuge Protection Act now.

This winter was historically bad out West.

Temps ran 5–15°F above normal across much of the West, and by April 1 (peak snowpack), levels were a fraction of average. Many locations saw their worst year in 45+ years.

In some places, snow melted out months early. Our snowpack is critical for necessary resources throughout the year. Snow is one of our biggest natural water reservoirs, storing water in winter and releasing it through spring and summer.

Less snow doesn’t just mean fewer powder days, it means less water when we need it most.
