WOW. 💗🌍☀️

We walked away from today’s NorthShore Rotary meeting incredibly touched and inspired.

We had the privilege of hearing from Sofie Roux, founder of BloomBox Design Labs, and learning about the incredible work she is doing to bring education, technology, creativity, and opportunity to young people in communities where access to these resources can be life-changing.

Through BloomBox, solar-powered learning spaces are helping children learn, imagine, create, and dream bigger. What touched us most is that Sofie saw a need and chose to do something about it — turning one idea into something that is creating meaningful impact.

To us, this is such a beautiful example of Service Above Self. ❤️

Sofie has also created a children’s book, This Is the Story of the BloomBox, sharing the BloomBox journey in a way that can inspire the next generation of dreamers, builders, and changemakers. 📚✨

Sometimes we wonder how one person can make a difference in such a big world. Sofie is a reminder that one idea, combined with compassion, courage, innovation, and action, can create an impact far beyond what we ever imagined.

From all of us at NorthShore Rotary, thank you, Sofie, for sharing your story with us. You truly left an impression on our hearts. We are looking forward to continuing the conversation and exploring ways our club may be able to partner with and support BloomBox in the future.

Today at NorthShore Rotary! ✨

Today we’re excited to welcome Sofie, founder of BloomBox Design Labs, a social enterprise using design, technology, and solar power to make high-quality education accessible in some of the hardest-to-reach communities in the world. 🌍☀️

BloomBox transforms repurposed shipping containers into solar-powered learning centers equipped with internet access, computers, and makerspace tools. To date, the organization has built four labs and reached more than 10,000 students — creating opportunities for education, innovation, and brighter futures.

And Sofie’s story is just as inspiring: she built her first lab in her backyard while still in high school! Today, she also works as an Aviation Development Engineer at Starlink, helping expand connectivity to hard-to-reach environments around the globe.

What a wonderful turnout at NorthShore Rotary this week! 💙💛

A special thank you to Teri Killgore, City Manager for the City of Kenmore, for joining us and sharing such an insightful and informative conversation about Proposition 1 and what’s happening in our community.

Well… the little legs were FAST, the crowd was amazing, and the day was an absolute blast! 🐶🏁😂

A HUGE thank you to everyone who came out to cheer, laugh, volunteer, and be part of such a fun community event. We’re already hoping this becomes a yearly tradition that just keeps getting bigger, better, and maybe a little more competitive each year. 😆
