This is what a Welcome Home Package looks like. 🏠💜

Also known as a Home Starter Kit usually given in a duffle bag but photographed in a container here filled with essentials like dish towels, kitchen utensils, soap, and cleaning supplies.

For clients transitioning out of homelessness, an empty apartment can feel overwhelming. These aren’t just household items. They’re necessities that often fall outside a tight budget.

With permission, we’re sharing a photo of one of our clients receiving their kit. We’re not sharing their name just the hope and dignity this moment represents.

Yesterday, the development team gathered with some of our incredible client Advocates and finance staff to say a very simple but sincere thank you.

Because ICycle planning is demanding. Two long cold days in February, a ton of moving parts. And they showed up anyway not just as volunteers, but as riders. Extra hands, extra heart, extra energy.

Our Executive Director Matt Pritchard couldn’t be there in person, but he left us a video message reminding us exactly why we do this work.

We shared tacos. We shared gratitude. And we celebrated the people who show up for our clients in more ways than one.

Pizza. Partnership. Purpose.🍕🫶✨

Since 2023, the Powerful PA’s have raised over $5,500 for HomeStart. But here’s what we remember most about yesterday’s appreciation lunch:

Good laughs & talks about the families their support helped house, stabilize, & keep safe.

Because of them:

• 1,500+ households
• 1,000+ family stabilized
• 1,392+ evictions prevent prevented

That’s approximately 8,000 households impacted. And they’re already signed up to ride again at our 20th anniversary ICycle 2027.

This is what partnership looks like. Years of showing up. Years of impact. Years of pizza.🍕☺️

Since 1999, CHAF has helped Cambridge and Boston families cover the costs that stand between them and a stable home, including first month’s rent, security deposits, and moving fees. It saves cities millions. It changes lives. And it’s powered by community banks and local realtors. This year’s goal: $100,000.
