October 11th is National Coming Out Day!

For bisexual+ people, coming out can be an ongoing process as we navigate different spaces, relationships, and assumptions about our identities. Today, we celebrate bi+ people who are out, those who are questioning, those who are not ready or able to come out, and those who choose to keep their identities private. Your identity is real whether or not you share it with others.

Let's continue creating communities where bi+ people are believed, affirmed, and celebrated, not just on National Coming Out Day, but every day!🩷 💜 💙 💛

🎉 WE HAVE A WINNER! 🎉

We’re excited to announce that the winning design for our 2026 Bi+ Visibility T-Shirt Design Contest Winner! This year's design "Bi+ Love Belongs Here" was created by Liz Zonarich! 🩷💜💙💛

🖼️ About the Design
The design draws on the belief that the bisexual+ community can bloom through intentional care and community building. When we create genuinely welcoming, affirming spaces and show up for our friends, lovers, and peers — we don’t just feel safe. We thrive together. Being an active participant in your own community is an act of love.

The illustration itself depicts a strong stem blooming into 3 separate flowers (each representing a color from the bisexual flag). Members of the community enjoy being in one another’s presence as they continue to grow together. Throughout this design I tried to evoke a feeling of hope, peace, admiration, and comfort.

🎨 About the Artist
Liz Zonarich (she/her) is an illustrator and designer based in Boston, MA. Her work focuses on chronic illness, friendship, and self care. She is the editor-in-chief of COPE MAGAZINE, which can be found at copemagazine.com.

The theme of this year’s contest was “Bi+ Love & Belonging,” a celebration of the many ways bi+ people create connection, community, joy, and belonging. We loved seeing all of the different interpretations of what this theme can mean!

A huge THANK YOU to everyone who submitted a design! Your creativity and willingness to share your visions with our community made this contest so special.

Happy Celebrate Bisexuality+ Day everyone!🩷 💜 💙 💛

September 23rd is a day to take pride in being bi+ and celebrate the community we’re building together. Whether you’ve been out for decades, are still finding words for your identity, or are here to support someone you love, there’s a place for you in this celebration.

Celebrate Bisexuality Day was launched in 1999 by three bi activists—Wendy Curry, Michael Page, and Gigi Raven Wilbur—as a day to be seen. It was a bold declaration: bi+ people exist, we matter, and we deserve joy, visibility, and community.

Bi+ community exists because people make it happen. Someone starts a support group. Someone tells a story that helps another person feel understood. Someone keeps showing up until a room full of strangers becomes a place where people belong.

This year, the Bisexual Resource Center is proud to celebrate the people who make those connections possible: We see your work, it matters, and our community is better because you’re part of it.

📢 Volunteers Needed!

Do you have experience with research, writing, and developing engaging resources?

We’re looking for one volunteer for each of the following projects:

- Bi+ 101 Resource Update: Update the Bi+ 101 Resource to make sure the content and information are current.

- Facilitation Manual Update & Brochure Development: Update the information, statistics, and case studies throughout the Facilitation Manual. Plus, develop the accompanying Facilitation Brochure.

🗳️ Do you know the different ways you can vote in your state?

Depending on where you live, you may have several options for casting your ballot:

• In person on Election Day at your designated polling location
• Early in person before Election Day
• By mail if your state offers vote-by-mail
• By absentee ballot if you meet your state’s requirements

Voting rules, deadlines, ID requirements, and available options are different by state, so make a plan ahead of time and check your state’s requirements.

The Bisexual Resource Center is proud to bring back the Celebrate Bisexuality+ Day Awards! These awards honor the incredible individuals and allies who make our bi+ community stronger, more visible, and more vibrant.

Too often, bi+ people’s work is overlooked, taken for granted, or erased. This is our chance to change that by recognizing the labor and love that goes into sustaining our community.

Nominate someone today and help us shine a spotlight on those who deserve to be celebrated.

Unsung Hero
This award honors a bi+ person whose tireless contributions often happen behind the scenes. They may not always seek the spotlight, but their dedication, care, and persistence make our community possible. The Unsung Hero is someone whose work deserves to be seen, uplifted, and celebrated.

Bi+ Ally
This award recognizes an ally who has gone above and beyond in supporting the bi+ community. Whether through advocacy, partnership, or steadfast support, this person has shown up for bi+ people in meaningful ways. They may be a partner, friend, family member, or advocate. What matters most is their unwavering commitment to our community.

Bee Hero
This award celebrates a public figure who has boldly championed bi+ visibility, representation, and rights. Our Bee Heroes are trailblazers, artists, leaders, or icons whose impact resonates far beyond our community, inspiring bi+ people everywhere. Previous awardees include Rebecca Sugar and Robyn Ochs.

The Bisexual Resource Center (BRC) is excited to announce our 2026 Bi+ Visibility T-Shirt Design Contest! We’re looking for an original design that celebrates the diversity, resilience, joy, and visibility of the bi+ community. The winning design will be featured on our official BRC Bi+ Visibility Day t-shirt and shared with our community.

T-shirt proceeds go to support the programs of the Bisexual Resource Center, a 501c3 national profit organization whose mission is to give support, share resources, and build community for anyone who has the capacity to be attracted to more than one gender.

🩷 Design Theme: Designs should reflect the theme of bisexual+ love and belonging. Artists are encouraged to interpret these themes creatively.

💜 Design Guidelines and Rules:
- Original artwork only. Designs must be original and submitted by or on the behalf of the designer and with the designer’s direct consent. No copyrighted material or AI-generated artwork. Minor use of AI-assisted tools for editing (such as removing backgrounds or adjusting colors) should be disclosed at the time of submission.

- Adults must submit on behalf of minors.

- By entering the contest, the submitter certified that the design is original and does not infringe on copyright laws.

- Designs should celebrate the bi+ community in an affirming and inclusive way. No profanity or offensive language.

- Designs should be suitable for printing on a t-shirt.

- Designs should be submitted as a high-resolution (300 dpi or better) PNG, PDF, SVG, JPEG.

- Designers must agree to the full Terms & Conditions (Details in the link below and in our bio).

💙 Timeline:
- Contest Opens: August 3, 2026
- Submission Deadline: September 15, 2026
- Winner Announced: September 23, 2026

💛 The winning artist will receive:
- Their design featured on a BRC shirt
- Recognition on the BRC website and social media
- A complimentary t-shirt featuring the winning design plus other BRC swag
- Bragging rights

🩵 Rights & Permissions:
By submitting a design, entrants agree that the artwork is their original creation. The selected winner grants the Bisexual Resource Center permission to reproduce, modify as needed for printing, and distribute the design on merchandise and promotional materials. The artist will be credited whenever reasonably possible.

Today, July 14th, is International Non-Binary People's Day! 💛🤍💜🖤

Non-binary identities have always existed, and every person deserves to have their identity respected, affirmed, and celebrated. We honor the non-binary members of our bisexual+ community and reaffirm our commitment to creating spaces where everyone can show up as their full, authentic selves, including those whose identities exist beyond and outside of the binary.
