Since 1978, GLAD Law has worked through litigation, public policy advocacy, and education to secure equal justice for LGBTQ+ people and people with HIV. Our staff carries that history with them, and they’re dedicated to writing the next chapter.

Today is National Latine HIV/AIDS Awareness Day. Latine communities continue to experience a disproportionate share of new HIV diagnoses, driven by barriers to testing, prevention methods like PrEP, and culturally and linguistically competent care. We honor the Latine leaders, health workers, and advocates closing those gaps in their communities. GLAD Law will keep fighting to make sure people with HIV are treated fairly under the law and can access the care they need.

A Trump administration rule cutting federal Medicaid funding for transgender youth health care took effect yesterday. To be clear: this rule is only about funding. It does not make this care illegal; it remains legal and protected in many states. States can and should keep covering this care for families on Medicaid and CHIP.
