Each One, Teach One workshops give YBB Pre-Apprentices mentorship opportunities and connect us to other community organizations. Counselors-in-Training from Boys And Girls Club Of Boston-Yawkey Club Of Roxbury visited the YouthBuild Boston carpentry woodshop to learn from our Summer pre-apprentice cohort.

It's Spotlight Saturday! Today we're highlighting one of our newest alumni of the Carpentry Pre-Apprenticeship Program. Nathan joined the summer cohort to familiarize himself with building trades and learn more about carpentry.
Throughout the program, Nathan exemplified the YouthBuild Boston spirit by showing up each day with eagerness to learn and enthusiasm to serve his community. He found ways to connect with everyone he met in the program, whether they were fellow students, staff, or experts in the trades.
Nathan was invited to speak to his fellow pre-apprentices at their graduation ceremony. He chose to share how much he valued the community he found at YBB.
"Icannot express how mush everybody he inspires me," Nathan said. "I knew that if I had y'all with me, I was set, and I was ready to go through any challenges in our way."
Nathan was recently accepted into the NASCTF carpenters union and will soon begin work as a framing carpenter.
