Are you a Boston resident ages 18–24 interested in starting a career in the trades?

YouthBuild Boston’s Carpentry Pre-Apprenticeship Program offers industry credentials, hands-on carpentry experience, on-the-job training opportunities, and workforce development support to help launch careers in the trades.

Applicants must have a high school diploma or equivalent to participate in Stage 2 of the YBB Carpentry Pre-Apprenticeship Program.

This Earth Day 🌍, we’re proud to celebrate how young people at YouthBuild Boston are helping build a greener, more climate resilient Boston.

Climate action looks local, practical, and community led. It looks like cooling strategies to address urban heat, 75 community garden beds across the city through GrowBoston, an outdoor kitchen at Haley House for farm-to-table learning, and innovative living roof bus shelters on Blue Hill Ave developed in collaboration with Weston Nurseries. It also looks like deconstruction and material reuse that reduce waste while creating pathways into green careers.

In neighborhoods most impacted by heat, food insecurity, and environmental inequity, our students are not just learning about solutions, they are helping lead them. They are building healthier neighborhoods and contributing to a more sustainable future for Boston.
