What will it take to make Boston and Chelsea the best places in America for young people to grow up and build their futures?

At our Annual Meeting, the BGCB community came together to imagine that future and explore how we can make it a reality.

From a warm welcome by teens at our Edgerley Family South Boston Club to powerful remarks from Andrew Rodgers of our Yawkey Club of Roxbury, young people were at the heart of the evening.

We also celebrated Melissa Weiner Janfaza’s three years as Board Chair, welcomed Michele Courton Brown as our new Chair, and recognized our incoming Directors and Trustees.

Our seven speakers brought unique perspectives and bold ideas, but one message stood out: building a brighter future for young people will take all of us, working together across our communities and sectors.

We’re energized by what’s possible and grateful to everyone who joined us in this shared vision. The future we imagined is within reach, and we’re excited to help make it happen.

A six-year member of the Josh Kraft Mattapan Teen Center, Chandler took his Club experience to a national level as a member of Boys & Girls Clubs of America’s National Youth Advisory Council.

This summer, he traveled to Atlanta to meet with fellow youth leaders from across the country, sharing his perspective and helping inform the future of Boys & Girls Clubs for the next generation. From his Club in Mattapan to a national platform, Chandler’s voice is making an impact.
