On Sunday, the City of Boston announced the return of Hub on Wheels.

It’s been a long wait, but we’re excited to ride again next year.

For folks who haven’t ridden Hub on Wheels before, this post is a quick primer on Hub on Wheels and the history of it.

This morning, the City of Boston announced safety improvements for the Tremont and Parker intersection to be implemented starting next week, the same location where we lost Louisa exactly three months ago today.

We’re grateful for these safety improvements and for their immediate implementation. At the same time, we would like to see action citywide. We need an updated Vision Zero Action Plan, a citywide Bicycle Network Plan, and a Safe Streets Ordinance.

FYI: If you’re a Mission Hill resident, save the date for a community transportation meeting for further safety improvements on the Tremont St Corridor! Information is in the post.

It’s been about two months since Mayor Wu released her July 24th letter detailing her “plan” for safer streets. We’re evaluating the progress that the city has made on the commitments made in that plan.

Where else does the city need to make more progress on? We want to hear your thoughts in the comments!

It’s been two months since we lost Louisa Gag to traffic violence. Is Tremont St any safer today? The answer is evidently not.

Residents have taken it upon themselves to improve Tremont St. Now, City Council is noticing.

We welcome the chance to discuss how we can make our streets safer and we hope City Council, the Mayor, and the Streets Cabinet will work with us to advocate for proven traffic safety measures to be installed citywide.

Over the weekend, riders with the Boston Cyclists Union rode all the way to Provincetown from Boston!

Our riders made the 100 mile trip over the course of two days, spending a night camping in Sandwich and taking a total of two ferries.

Kudos to all our BoP-Town riders last weekend and we wish our inaugural BP400 riders luck this weekend on their 400 mile ride to Philadelphia!

And a special shout-out to Sarah Block, our volunteer who led the organizing for this ride! Thank you Sarah!

Yesterday, the Public Improvements Commission (PIC) voted to remove the Bennington St protected bike lane that was supposed to be built as part of the 355 Bennington St project.

The City of Boston Streets Cabinet (Transportation & Public Works) has surprised us with the first new micromobility lane in Boston protected by a cast-in-place concrete “Better Buffer”!
