“I cannot believe that in the year 2026, in the city of Cambridge, a hotel worker can still be punished like this for exercising her rights.” - Zena, Bartender at the Hyatt Regency Cambridge

Zena and her co-worker were recently disciplined for "lost revenue" on the same night they waved to the union picket. They regularly wear their Union buttons and have joined Local 26 picket lines outside the hotel. Is the discipline a coincidence, or is it union-busting? 🤔

Thank you to the Cambridge City Council for unanimously supporting UNITE HERE Local 26's boycott of Hyatt Regency Cambridge until the hotel owners agree to a fair process for the workers to decide on unionization.

Please take a moment today to remember the ultimate sacrifice our neighbors like Robert Kilduff Jr. make every day to keep us safe. Our thoughts are with him, his family, and all members of the Boston Fire Department Boston Firefighters Local 718 IAFF today and every day.

Boston lost a hero.

Firefighter Robert Kilduff, Jr. came from a family of firefighters, and he held this calling as the highest duty to serve and protect. Because of his actions, working alongside his fellow firefighters, every resident came out of the flames safe and sound.

On behalf of the City of Boston, we extend our deepest condolences to the Kilduff family and all of Bobby’s loved ones. The Kilduff family has given everything in service to this country and this City. We ask for your prayers for his family, for all our firefighters, and for our City.

Boston will forever honor Firefighter Kilduff’s dedication and service with the most profound gratitude.

Cambridge is a Union Town!
A huge thank you to all our community allies standing with us today, including the Association of Professional Flight Attendants (APFA), Boston Teachers Union, North Atlantic States Regional Council of Carpenters, 32BJ SEIU, MIT Graduate Student Union, New England Jewish Labor Committee; City Councilors Marc McGovern, Ayah Al-Zubi, and Jivan Sobrinho-Wheeler; and Mayor Sumbul Siddiqui.
And a big shoutout to all our Union siblings in university food service, hotels, Logan Airport, Fenway Park, Encore Boston, AND Rhode Island who showed up and showed out for the courageous workers at Hyatt Regency Cambridge!

Today hotel workers at Hyatt Regency Cambridge launched a boycott of the property, escalating their fight for a fair process to decide on unionization, free from intimidation or harassment. The boycott calls on customers, organizations, elected officials, and community partners not to eat, sleep, or meet at Hyatt Regency Cambridge until workers have a fair process to decide on a union.

📣📣 Cambridge is a Union Town!
MIT dining workers have ratified their new contract. In 2029, MIT cooks will make at least $41/hour.
At Harvard, dining workers rallied to show that they are fighting together for a fair contract. Workers deserve better at the wealthiest university in the world! Harvard Graduate Students Union - UAW

Yesterday Local 26 distributed $1,000 hardship checks to 38 workers who lost their jobs when Seamark Restaurant in Encore Boston closed. The checks are funded by the Local 26 Hardship Fund and community donations.
For the displaced workers, the checks help with rent, groceries, and other monthly bills.
“We were there for the company when they needed us,” said Manuel Pleitez, a line cook at Seamark since 2024. “We stayed late, covered shifts, and kept the restaurant running. When we needed help, they were gone. Local 26 showed up.”
