Our Advocates are here to help you move forward and to live a life free from violence.

Hope's Safe Haven has an emergency shelter as well as a 24/7 crisis hotline to aid victims of domestic and sexual violence in their efforts to reclaim their lives. Polk County House of Hope is an emergency shelter for victims of domestic and sexual violence. Our outreach team is in place to provide services and support to individuals and families who may not necessarily require shelter but are in need of a helping hand, or support system, while navigating the crisis and trauma DV/SV can bring into our lives unexpectedly. We also have a thrift store named "Hopes Closet", we use the donations to provide clothing and household items to the families we serve within the shelter & the community. Hopes Closet accepts donations daily and is open to the public six days a week. House of Hope also hosts a few support groups weekly, call the Main Office for more details on how you can get involved with support group or Volunteer with our organization!

Tournament In-game Pricing (cash or card)
$50 Out
-must be paid before the inning starts
-DEFENSIVE team (team in the field), can start the inning with 2 OUTS, instead of 3
-limit ONE per inning, any inning, any game, any round

Home Run Bands- $10
-only the batter wearing the band will have unlimited home runs, throught the tournament (only need to buy one)
-bands do not count in home run derby
-team home runs per game- 4. If batter with home run band hits a home run, it will not count toward the 4.

Women Bands- $10
-singe turns into a double, double into triple, triple into homerun
-walks will not get an extra base
-if a female hits a home run (over the fence), run will count, no extra base will be given, but Drew Perry will buy them a drink from Creator Delights (Bolivar)

HOME RUN DERBY- $20
-winner will receive a trophy
-batter may use a human (must supply your own) or use a pitching machine (we can adjust as needed)
-we will be using Field 3
-batters can take their swings starting after 1pm (to keep things on the honor system, there must be a minimum of three spectators to confirm home runs)
-PARENTS- your children can s**g balls if you let them (any injury will not be on the city or Hope's Safe Haven ).
-TEAMS- this would be a great opportunity to get some extra practice in
-batter may take pitches, but all swings will count
-cuts will be based on how many total batters (example 15 batters, cut to 10, cut to 5)
1st Round- 15 balls
2nd Round- 10 balls
3rd Round- 5 balls
If there is a tie in the last round, the batters will alternate at-bats

We greatly appreciate Garretson Trash Service for participating in the October Domestic Violence Awareness Month. Today, October 15, is . Today, we wear purple to stand with survivors of domestic violence, honor their courage, and remember those whose lives have been lost to abuse.
Domestic Violence is not always visible, but its impact is real. Every person deserves to live free from fear, abuse, and violence. Together, we can break the silence, raise awareness, and remind survivors that they are not alone.

Today is Purple Thursday--
Purple Thursday is a day dedicated to raising awareness about domestic violence and showing support for survivors. Purple is the color of domestic violence awareness, symbolizing courage, peace, survival, and hope.
For Hope's Safe Haven, Purple Thursday is an opportunity to encourage the community to wear purple, spread awareness, support survivors, and stand together against domestic violence.
Today, we wear purple to stand in solidarity with survivors of domestic violence and to remember those whose lives have been affected by abuse.

October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month!

Purple Thursday is a National Day of Action observed on the third Thursday of October-falling on October 15, 2026.

Symbol of support. Purple is the official color of the domestic violence awareness movement. It represents courage, survival, honor, and hope for victims and survivors.

WEAR PURPLE: Individuals wear purple clothing, ribbons, ties, or accessories. Share on social media.
