I am so very honored and blessed to be part of an amazing community and organization that strives to serve God! We are truly grateful and appreciative to Grand Missouri Bank for their generous grant and support which enables us to complete necessary repairs on the Memorial Hall Building for our men’s program!

Congratulations to Polk County Cares for receiving an FHLB Member Impact Fund grant! 🎉 This grant will support the restoration of Memorial Hall, a facility dedicated to a program designed to help men overcome life’s barriers and rebuild their lives. Funding will also go toward updating the kitchen and community room. Once completed, the building will be able to house up to 50 men at a time!

We are proud to partner with Federal Home Loan Bank of Des Moines to support nonprofits doing such important work in our community!

We are in need of help Monday-Fridays 7am-5:30pm and some Saturdays 7am-4pm. We will gladly accept any help someone is able to offer even if it is just a few hours.

As we close out this season, we’re reflecting on a winter that was uncharacteristically warm. While our numbers were lower this year, our gratitude is higher than ever.

The quiet nights allowed for great conversations and more personalized care for our guests. We may not have seen a "typical" Missouri winter, but we saw the typical Missouri heart: generous, ready, and deeply supportive. Thank you for making it possible for us to keep the light on for those who needed it most.
