The Humane Society of Blue Ridge (HSBR) is a no-kill pet shelter and adoption center located in the North Georgia Mountains. HSBR was established in December 2008 by a group of dedicated volunteers who wanted to help save abandoned, injured, or mistreated animals in the Fannin County Georgia area. HSBR operates a thrift store located in downtown Blue Ridge and all proceeds go towards the animals.

OUR MISSION AT THE HSBR:

To promote respect for all living things. To provide for the welfare of abandoned, injured, or mistreated animals and to find them loving, permanent homes. We will work to increase the awareness of animal issues through public education, striving to end euthanasia of healthy, adoptable animals and promote and offer affordable spay and neutering.

Cocktails for a Cause 🍸🐾

Chester Brunnenmeyer's Bar and Grill and Humane Society of Blue Ridge are teaming up to put the spotlight on some very deserving adoptable dogs, one cocktail at a time.

First up: MARMADUKE.

For the next two weeks, order THE MARMADUKE at Chester’s, made with grapefruit vodka, St. Germain, cranberry, a splash of lemon and Prosecco, finished with a lemon twist.

100% of the profits from every MARMADUKE cocktail sold will be donated to Humane Society of Blue Ridge, while MARMADUKE gets some well-deserved attention of his own. 🥹

And he’s just the beginning!

Every two weeks through November, a new HSBR adoptable dog and a new cocktail will be announced, with 100% of the profits donated to support HSBR's life saving mission. ❤️‍🩹

Then, mark your calendar for November 1, when HSBR will be at Chester’s for a special adoption event where you can meet some of the dogs behind the drinks.

Have a cocktail and help the animals! Maybe even meet your new best friend! 🍸🐾

Meet The Six Pack!
🐱🐱🐱🐱🐱🐱

PICKLES, MINGUS, TESSA, SONIA, ELMO & REMI came into this world in the home of their foster mom and longtime HSBR volunteer, Sabine, when mama GRACE gave birth in her care.

Sabine has been there for this little family from day one, giving GRACE a safe place to raise her babies and helping six tiny kittens grow into the personalities they are today.

We are so thankful for the time, care and love she has given all seven of them. ❤️

And now, the whole family is ready for homes of their own!

GRACE is currently at our Adoption Center and ready to meet you.

The Six Pack is still with Sabine, who is happy to arrange meet and greets with potential adopters.

When SPOT first came to us, he was almost completely shut down, shaking and wrapped in a blanket. Then Robyn stepped up to foster him and gave him the time, patience and space he needed to learn what safety and love could feel like.

Little by little, SPOT started to come out of his shell!

Then came our community visit to Blue Ridge Elementary School, where SPOT met the people who would become his forever family. ❤️

Thank you, Robyn, for giving SPOT the chance he needed. Thank you to Blue Ridge Elementary for welcoming our pups and to this community for continuing to show up for them.

And BIG thank you to SPOT'S incredible new family for giving him such a beautiful happily ever after! 🥹🫶🏽

This photo holds a story.

This little puppy named RICHARD was found discarded on the side of the road. The people who stopped to save him didn’t just get him to safety, they opened their home and became his foster family through the Humane Society of Blue Ridge.

Then his story traveled a little farther ..

A family in St. Pete, Florida saw RICHARD online after he was shared and they fell in love. So much so that they drove up to Blue Ridge just to meet him.

They didn’t drive home alone.

RICHARD is now BOGIE, and these days you can find him living his very best Florida life poolside with his dog cousins, his new mom and dad and what we’re told is approximately one million aunts and uncles who absolutely adore him. 🥹

This is what fostering, sharing and adopting can do. So many people played a part in getting BOGIE home, including every single person who shared his story and helped it reach the family who was waiting for him.

Go, BOGIE, Go!

Please help us spread the word and bring NICO home.

NICO is a black Shih Tzu who is missing from the Ooltewah/Collegedale area. He has serious medical conditions and requires daily medication, so his family is very worried about him. He may also have been injured in a car accident before he went missing.

There is a $2,000 reward for his safe return.

REMUS had himself a pretty great day out!

First stop was Home Depot, where he made some new friends and handled the automatic doors like a pro. 😎

Then it was off to Dairy Queen because nothing beats a pup cup on a hot Georgia day!

REMUS is such a sweet, friendly boy who loves meeting people, loves a good car ride and is always happy to be along for the adventure.

Now he just needs a family to take him on all the adventures still to come. ❤️
