Cats In Bloom and Friends & Ferals alumni Cashew (now known as Koda) stopped by our stand at the Catawissa Celebrates America 250 carnival last night! 😻 He loves to go on walks in his harness and stroller! Check out the video in the comments of him field testing our homemade catnip kickers. 😹😸

The LAST DAY of the carnival is today! ❤️🤍💙 Carnival hours are 2pm to 10pm with fireworks following. 🎆🎇 Come get yourself some CIB merch and other goodies for you and your cat! 🐈🐈‍⬛😻

CIB Adoption 2020,2021 & 2022

With their momma Moira Rose adopted, some of her kittens decided it time to “spread their paws”🐾 and find their families too!

Sweet Stevie couldn’t quite decide whether to be a black or a tortie kitten when born. As the weeks went on, however-she developed beautiful golden highlights in her unique coat.
Family members Nancy Olson and Airel Huntington came to Cats in Bloom several times looking for just the right cat or kitten to adopt. The decision was tough but each time, kitten Stevie was ready and waiting to curl up in Nancy’s lap. She just wasn’t taking no for an answer!

Brothers David and Patrick loved palling around together and were rarely far apart in our kitten room. When they heard Rebekah Gill and her family loved black cats 🐈‍⬛ and were hoping to adopt a bonded pair-David and Patrick were ready and waiting to make an impression. Having children in the home was an added bonus for this twosome who loved meeting younger folks at our library and community events.

Thank you to all the kids and parents from the community and our furriends from Lighthouse Program in Frackville who joined us for our Kitten Workshop at Rohrbach's Farm Market, Bakery and Barn Loft! We learned all about the care, keeping, and loving of cats and kittens along with the importance of spaying and neutering and TNR for feral cats. We appreciate your support and you all for rolling with plans B & C when the rain came!

Jasper, Jade, Alexis, and Alfalfa had a blast!

Sadly, there is an empty space at the top of the vestibule today at the cafe and in our hearts💔

Many of you had become familiar with Cheddar, our big orange, chill boy in the adult room. Cheddar made his debut at the café in early April and quickly became a favorite among volunteers and guests alike.

Unfortunately, this past weekend we noticed that he just didn't seem like himself and after a visit to the always kind-hearted staff at Bloomsburg Veterinary Hospital, we received an unexpected diagnosis and it was determined that the kindest thing we could do was to help him pass peacefully.

We find comfort in knowing that we were able to give him love and attention when he needed it most.

Rest easy, big guy and like the others before you, know that you will never be forgotten, and we will meet again one day at the Rainbow Bridge. 🌈🧡

CIB Adoption # 2019
Moira Rose

Moira Rose 🌹 found herself up “Schitt’s Creek” when her family was evicted and their cats were left outside to fend for themselves in the coldest months of winter. To make the situation worse, Moira was very pregnant and delivered a litter of 5 kittens with the snow falling. Fortunately, a kind couple, put together a makeshift shelter on their porch and called us for help.

Petite momma Moira Rose had an indomitable spirit and took amazing care of her babies while pushing through major medical issues of her own. She had severe dental and eye infections and an inward turning (entropian) of an eyelid causing constant irritation of one eye. When her kittens were weaned and independent-Moira was spayed, had a full dental and entropian surgery thanks to a team effort by the veterinary staff at Susquehanna Trail Animal Hospital (a big surgical procedure for any cat, let alone a recent mom!).

Moira Rose, however, took it all in stride and emerged stronger than ever! Pain free and with the kids “out of the house”, Moira’s delightful personality started to shine at Cats in Bloom. She loved interacting with people, playing like a kitten. During a recent Flow with Felines Yoga event at the cafe, Moira decided to co-teach the class with instructor Alexa Blackburn.
What started as a chance meeting has become a true partnership!

We’re happy to share Moira Rose is now home and treasured beyond measure by Alexa and her family! ❤️

We are so thankful that a previous adopter got ahold of one of our board members to urgently help out this little girl 🙌🏻 She decided to hitch a ride this afternoon but was too scared to come out on her own with the loud traffic🚗😳 Naturally, she earned the name ‘Hitchhiker’ 😹 Can’t thank Friends & Ferals team enough for working so well with us on all aspects in this crazy world of cat rescue 😻🫶🏻
