Congrats to Philip our newest Ray Scholar. He is the twelfth young person we have helped get their start in aviation. Our group normally gathers on the third Saturday of the month at 11:00 at the Bloomsburg Airport. You are invited to come out and let us introduce you to the wonderful world of general aviation.

Our next gathering will be Saturday February 21st at 11:00 for our annual chili cookoff fundraiser. Come sample some chili while supporting our efforts to support more scholarships for young people like Philip.

Our gathering this month is all about MOSAIC and what this new rule means to you!
The new MOSAIC rule (Sport Pilot/Light Sport 2.0) is finally here. At our August gathering chapter president, Dr. Phil Polstra, will facilitate a discussion on what this long awaited rule change means to you as a pilot or potential pilot.
A non-exclusive list of things to be covered:
• What new privileges will Sport Pilots have?
• Flying under Sport rules when holding a higher certificate
• Changes to definition of Light Sport Aircraft
• What existing aircraft will now be considered Light Sport?
• What new categories of Light Sport Aircraft will be created?
• When do I need a medical to fly as a Sport pilot?
• When will these new rules take effect?
Come an join us because it is way more fun than sitting at home and reading this 717 page rule by yourself!
