Together, they will share Dr. Joseph Langnas’s miraculous and inspiring survival of the Holocaust and his journey from war-torn Europe to the U.S., along with Frieda’s powerful firsthand Holocaust reflections, honoring a legacy that ensures these lessons endure for the future generations. What better way to spend an autumn afternoon than down on the farm— the Farber Farm at Tamarack Camps to be specific. Join WP’s Up Next group for some lunch and hands-on fun as we enjoy a midday meal that includes homemade pitas from their outdoor burning oven and farm-grown vegetables. We’ll also be working with herbs and beeswax harvested from the farm to create our own lip balm, salve and roll-on fragrance to take home! Learn more and RSVP at https://jlive.app/events/17463

Thank you to the Grand Rapids Federation for a wonderful visit!

Thank you to the Grand Rapids Federation for a wonderful visit!

On August 11, 2026, members of Detroit's Women's Philanthropy visited Meijer Gardens, where they were welcomed by Linda Pestka, daughter of Holocaust survivor Henry Pestka, and Nicole Katzman, Executive Director of JFGR. The group gathered before the garden's striking metal tree sculpture, its fractured glass branches catching the light, as Linda shared her father's story and the meaning behind the artwork.
It was a powerful reminder of how a single sculpture can carry the weight of memory and resilience across generations — and a meaningful bridge between communities. Thank you to all who made the visit so special.

Applications are now open for Women’s Philanthropy’s Momentum Trip to Israel! ✨🇮🇱 This November, we’re bringing together a cohort of Jewish Detroit moms in their 30s and 40s for a special experience through Women’s Philanthropy and Momentum. Together, this group will travel to Israel, connect with Israeli women from our Partnership2Gether Region in the Central Galilee, and build meaningful relationships with one another through a shared experience that starts before the trip and continues long after returning home.
If you’re a Jewish mom in your 30s or 40s with kids under 18 and live in Metro Detroit, we’d love for you to apply.
Applications are open now through July 24. Learn more and apply https://momentumunlimited.org/partners/
