Board Of Animal Health Kennel License We are dedicated to rescuing dogs and cats left homeless for whatever reason – focusing on the ones with major medical issues or of senior age. These are the ones that are usually overlooked because they are not “highly adoptable.” They are also the ones that cost the most to the organizations. We believe they are the most in need of help! We place dogs and cats in loving, responsible, committed permanent homes, following a comprehensive adoption process which includes taking considerable care in finding good matches and educating prospective adopters about the responsibilities and costs of bringing a dog or cat into their homes and lives. Taking in major medical cases and senior animals means that they will likely have more care needed life long. We make sure that they are placed in homes that are able to financially and physically care for them long term. Animals in our care are all spayed or neutered, receive all appropriate veterinary care and treatment, and placed in nurturing foster homes while they await placement in their permanent homes. We assist dogs and cats in distress without regard to age, breed or ease of placement. To the extent our finances allow, dogs and cats in the greatest need take priority. We have partnered with some of the best and the brightest in the Veterinary Medical field and we are committed to giving every animal in our care the best chance at a happy forever. We do not shy away from unconventional routes and are always looking for ways to push forward the medical advances for animals. From fish skin grafts on trauma cases, to prosthetics for amputees, to FIP treatments that save lives as never before, we will make sure every option is exhausted for our major medical cases. Many animals that would have immediately been euthanized in the shelter, now have a chance to live and thrive with their varied medical conditions. We never euthanize animals due to space or time constraints, but we may elect to euthanize in the event of a severe, untreatable/debilitating illness or extremely dangerous behavioral concerns. Because we do not kill to make space, however, we cannot take in every animal that needs help. Tina is still here... not a single interest!

Tina is a 6-year-old former outdoor kitty with a story that shows just how resilient cats can be. She originally wandered up to a kind familys home one day and decided she was ready for a safer, softer life indoors. They welcomed her in and took her to be spayed, where it was discovered that Tina was suffering from a painful and serious condition called stomatitis—severe inflammation of the mouth and gums.

Stomatitis can be a complicated disease with varying outcomes, but Tinas story took a very positive turn. The best treatment for her case was a full dental extraction, removing all of her teeth. While that might sound drastic, it completely changed her life for the better. With the constant pain gone, Tina blossomed into a happy, comfortable girl who now eats dry kibble just like any other cat and enjoys her days without discomfort.

Unfortunately, her original family was unable to continue her care, so Tina has now found her way into rescue—and she is more than ready for her forever home.

Tina is an easygoing, social girl who gets along well with other cats and doesn't mind calm, respectful dogs. She's not demanding or complicated—her dream home is really quite simple: a cozy chair or sunny couch where she can stretch out, nap, and soak up the warmth she deserves after everything she's been through.

After a life that started outdoors and included some big medical hurdles, Tina is finally feeling good—and now she just needs a family to match that peace.

Señora came to animal control as a stray, and sadly, no one came looking for her. But we know her next chapter is going to be something special! ✨

Meet Hawkeye!

This guy is a dark horse here at the rescue... he came in terrified and we were questioning if he would ever come around to wanting to interact with us.
Fast forward a couple months and he is the first to greet us in the morning and he always wants to be the first for attention.
He is still a very sensitive guy though and he does get spooked easily. Loud noises scare him and he retreats to his safe spaces in the kitty furniture. But this is getting less and less. He is doing so well and when you just hang out with him, he is the biggest lover.

He gets along well with other cats but he prefers cats that are not wild and crazy, more of the laid back type ;).

Hawkeye is maybe a year or two. He is so handsome and sweet. We hope someone will fall in love with his picture here, even though there are thousands of cats available online right now. Please let us know if you would like to meet him ❤️

Happy Adoption Day Finnegan!

This little guy was born on St Patrick's Day this year and was surrendered to us the next day. He had a roller-coaster ride with us over the months and did a great job tackling them all.

He has been available for adoption for most of the summer with little interest. But today his forever family found him ❤️

Thank you all for your continued support for these special medical cases! It's all we want to do because we do it well but we can't do it without your help!
