For JLB member Lovely Pugh, this year’s placement with Forge Breast Cancer Survivor Center is more than an opportunity to serve. It’s personal. 💗
In 2018, Lovely’s mother-in-law was diagnosed with Stage 4 metastatic breast cancer. After recognizing changes in her body and advocating for her health, she went on to share eight more precious years with her family. Sadly, Lovely and her family recently said goodbye to her following the return of her cancer earlier this year.
That experience has given Lovely a deeper appreciation for the work being done at Forge. During September’s Pamper Me Pink event, she witnessed firsthand the joy, gratitude, and meaningful impact that support can bring to survivors and their families.
As Breast Cancer Awareness Month comes to a close, Lovely’s story reminds us that behind every diagnosis is a family, a community, and a reason to keep showing up.
Through partnerships like Forge, JLB is proud to support organizations making a difference in the lives of those facing breast cancer. 💕
