MT Veteran's Meat Locker We are NOT a service program and are ran by ALL volunteers with NO paid staff. Our organization is made up of ALL VOLUNTEERS with NO PAID POSITIONS.

The MT Veterans Meat Locker hosts monthly events (if meat supply allows) that gives out FREE professionally processed meat to Veterans as a GRATITUDE for SERVICE. This was made possible due to the great hunters and ranchers in Montana. The wild game and domestic animals are taken to processors throughout Montana. We raise money to pay for the processing and pick up the meat from the processors onc

e finished. The meat is stored frozen and distributed to Veterans at meat giveaways or on a as need basis. This is a THANK YOU FOR YOUR SERVICE and NOT a handout. We strongly encourage all Veterans please come and receive this gift. The Veterans must be able to provide valid proof (VA card, DD214, any other valid form) of being a veteran, once proof is displayed, we furnish the veteran with an amply amount of meat, free of charge, to sustain him or her for a couple weeks.

We are grateful to share a very special donation from the amazing folks at Peace Lutheran Church in Billings, MT. They have blessed us with the donation of $1000 to assist in paying for the processing fees of the meat that we give out FREE to Veterans and their families. This came at a perfect time as we picked up the 4-H Fair animals that were donated throughout the state. It is awesome how things seem to happen at just the right time. We added in some special options of donated 4-H animal meats and other special request meals as well. Great group of Veterans and family members to cap off the busy weekend. We are excited to share a NEW PROCESSOR in Great Falls, 406 Processing & Taxidermy. This amazing couple had 3000 pounds of wildgame meat available for purchase from the 2025 hunting season. We had the funds from the fundraising raffles and awesome supporters making donations to purchase this large amount of meat. It came at a perfect time for the big Meat Giveaway we will be doing in Great Falls on September 19th. We are also excited to share that the crew at 406 Processing & Taxidermy processes wild and domestic animals. So they can take any beef, pigs, lambs, and goats in the Great Falls area. Huge advantage for us and honored to have them available for any animals in the future.

We are happy to share we had two very successful giveaways this past weekend. First, we were invited to the JCF (Joining Community Forces) and DAR (Daughters of the American Revolution) BBQ in East Helena. It was a beautiful day (minus the smoke) and the JCF and DAR crew did an awesome job. Food was delicious and there was even a volunteer group of musicians playing for everyone. We had 165 (plus family members) people grab a bag and enjoy the BBQ. It was a great time, giveaway and group of people. Second, we invited to the Annual Montana Air National Guard Family Readiness Day in Great Falls. WOW! Let’s just say we were not prepared for that overwhelming support and attendance. We ran out of meat in the freezer trailer and still had Veterans to show our gratitude for. We gave out over 3000 pounds there and felt terrible we didn’t bring more. Next year we will be ready for this big event. It was such a great weekend and we enjoyed every minute of it. We want to thank my awesome nephew, Jacob Reynolds for helping us make all the bags for these events. Great young man and made that chore easy, we have him roped in to help more now. From the deepest depths of our hearts, the wife and I want to thank everyone that makes this possible and to all the Veterans and families, without all of you, this would not be possible. THANK YOU ALL.

We traveled 680 miles to Lincoln and Townsend for two giveaways this past weekend. We had a great turnout and met some great Veterans and families. We want to thank Outpost Lincoln for inviting us and they have such a great program going on up there for Veterans. Great job everyone and keep it up.
