This year at the Whitefish Community Foundation's launch party we ran into Erik Kaltschmidt and he asked some questions and took materials at our booth and this year Don "K" Whitefish donated $5,000! Thank you for supporting hunger programs all over the Flathead!

As we wrap up the month of August we served a total of 199 households with 448 people and distributed 9,316 pounds of food and 556 pounds of non-food. What are non food-items? Dish soap, toilet paper, laundry detergent, feminine hygiene products, diapers, adult diapers, pet food etc. SNAP does not allow non-food purchases and many families struggling to keep food on their tables and a roof over their head struggle with everyday necessities.

What a profound loss yesterday of the beloved Dolly Parton. You might not know but familes that come to our food bank are able to take books some come from our community, some from Hopa Mountain and from Dolly Parton's Imagination Library. With love to Tennessee from Bigfork, Montana. May we all think of something kind to do for others today in her honor! 🦋

Pantry tomorrow 9 am-1 pm. Look at all this great produce from local farmers, Montana Food Bank Network - MFBN, West Shore Food Bank, North Valley Food Bank, Flathead Food Bank, NW Montana Veterans Stand Down and Food Pantry, Whitefish Community Foundation and others. Our super sweet volunteers every Monday prepare of our Pantry as well as 95 volunteers and groups everyday of the week doing something and putting in over 400 hours each month. Thank you for letting us nourish our neighbors!

Every year the Kalispell Lions Club donates to the Flathead Valley food banks and this year they moved their giving time frame up and donated $1,500 to us during the Great Fish Community Challenge. Check out this old photo Cinnamon Davis Hall recently shared from around 2019 with her dad Alan Erickson who recently passed away, Julia Sundee from West Shore Food Bank and Ann Tucker.

EXCITING UPDATE!!
Harvest Foods Bigfork donated 6 brand new shopping carts to us!!!!! If you have ever shopped at the food bank or volunteered you know our lobby can be busy with shopping carts of different sizes. This donation from Harvest Foods and their amazing team (Marcus, Tom and Colton) will make the lives of the hundreds of people we serve a year so much smoother. Thank you all our smiles are so big and bright right now 😁
