Rags-to-Riches Rummage & Bake Sale Rags-to-Riches is St. John Paul II Catholic Church's annual fundraiser benefitting nonprofits and community projects in NW Montana's Flathead Valley.

So far, nearly $200,000 has been channeled to groups who make the place we call home even better.

The countdown is on! Only 28 more days until the 19th annual Rags-to-Riches Rummage & Bake Sale opens its doors at St. John Paul II Catholic Church! The sale is June 12 & 13, starting at 8 am each day.

We are so excited for you to see this year's selection of great stuff -- everything from furniture to tools, books to toys, housewares to clothing, and home decor to recreational gear. And of course, we'll be back with the best bake sale in the Valley (well, we think so!). We hope to see you there!

The members of St John Paul II Catholic Church are all about community in all its many forms: We care…we invest…and we make a difference.

This past weekend the Rags-to-Riches bake sale team had the pleasure of contributing celebration goods to the Bigfork Booster Club’s annual BBQ and auction, the proceeds of which are channeled to projects and programs that support students.

Our annual sale is a signature event of the church’s women’s group, and this year we have focused on programs and causes that support young people, from scholarships and financial support to college-bound seniors, to services that provide basic needs and strengthen families.

What a joy to partner with groups such as the Boosters that make the Valley a great place to call home!

Hey everyone...We just listed a hospital bed on Marketplace, but sadly, it was rejected because it involves healthcare-related equipment. We completely understand this position but believe there are folks out there who could make good use of this, especially with the increasing costs of home care. So, we are posting on our site in case someone in need sees it.

A kind Rags-to-Riches supporter has donated a gently used Invacare Softform Excel bed designed for comfort and ease of use. It has a metal frame, is electric and adjustable. The bed measures 41-in W x 88-in L x 27-in from the floor to the top of the metal frame.

New beds can run into the thousands. We are asking $150.

IMPORTANT NOTE: We are not healthcare professionals. Please consult with your or your loved one's care team to determine if this is the right solution for you. We invite you to come take a look at the bed, which is sold as is.

Easter week was filled with more surprises than a field full of stuffed plastic eggs. The best kind, to be sure. As we lead up to our annual Rags-to-Riches Rummage & Bake Sale, we have been amazed by the steady stream of generosity from our donors and the community's enthusiastic response to our efforts. Through our online sales program we've met some really great people we would not have met otherwise. Rags-to-Riches is fun, high-energy, convivial, and very satisfying to be a part of.

But God puts us exactly where he needs us to be and often it means working quietly behind the scenes. Last week, for instance, we were able to gift some donated items to people who are really struggling: a comfortable chair for a young disabled man; a massage chair that will bring some relief for a woman dealing with chronic illness; household items for a family that has absolutely nothing; and clothes to boost the confidence of a gentleman looking for work. There are many such stories, and we suspect there will be many more. We are called to live with compassionate hearts, and we welcome opportunities to care for our neighbors. These are truly feel-good moments.

So, whether you are a Rags-to-Riches donor, shopper, or volunteer, please know that whether you know it or not, you are making a huge difference and helping to make the place we call home even better.

Man, do we love our community! We are all about supporting great causes that bring people together and help our neighbors.

Rags-to-Riches Bake Sale team members have fired up their ovens and are preparing to contribute homemade goodness to events throughout the Valley, starting with Easter bingo at St John Paul II church this past week.

We also have a lot planned for the sale June 12-13 — lots of tried-and-true favorites and the deliciously unexpected!

SAVE THE DATE!
The 19th Annual Rags-to-Riches Rummage & Bake Sale is happening June 12 & 13, 2026, and we're already receiving great items from generous donors. The sale offers everything from clothing and tools to sporting and home goods, and antiques and collectibles to furniture and toys. And our talented bakers and kitchen crafters are planning an array of freshly baked pies, cakes, breads, and sweet- and savory-treats.

HEADS UP: Response has been so great we are able to offer some items months before the sale, so keep an eye on this page and FB Marketplace for more information.

We hope to see you for what we think is the best sale in the Valley. Remember: We've got the good stuff!
