Rags-to-Riches Rummage & Bake Sale Rags-to-Riches is St. John Paul II Catholic Church's annual fundraiser benefitting nonprofits and community projects in NW Montana's Flathead Valley.

So far, nearly $200,000 has been channeled to groups who make the place we call home even better.

RASPBERRIES, CHERRIES & HUCKS…OH MY!

Our 20th annual Rags-to-Riches Rummage & Bake Sale is nearly a year out but Saint John Paul II church’s Holy Rollers bake sale team isn’t letting any grass grow under their feet!

We have been taking full advantage of the summer season’s bounty and great weather to grow and harvest fresh fruits and veggies, and our kitchen magicians have begun to can and jam, all to offer our customers the best homemade, feel-good products.

Special shout out to Mama B’s and Black Bear Orchard for their generous cherry donations, not to mention all those who stepped forward with contributions from their own gardens.

We are planning a lot of tasty surprises as well as tried-n-true favorites for the sale, including a dizzying array of fresh pies.

So stay tuned. I’d share more, but I don’t want to ruin any surprises. Besides, there’s a cherry pitter calling my name…

NOW YOU SEE IT; NOW YOU DON’T…

It’s been a month since this year’s Rags-to-Riches Rummage & Bake Sale at Saint John Paul II Catholic church wrapped up. We’re still tabulating our results as we continue to receive donations, and we still are selling on Marketplace. Just goes to show that generosity breeds generosity, and kindness is evergreen.

It’s hard to believe that just a few weeks ago, our church hall and patio were overflowing.

People have asked us where the leftovers went. The answer is we shared what we had with other organizations in the valley, all of which are similarly community- and service-minded: The Bigfork Senior Center raised its hand for the clothing, books, and puzzles; and the Women of Rollins Club gathered up items to support its two annual sales which fund scholarships, quilts for children battling cancer, and efforts to preserve the town’s beloved historic schoolhouse, and more. And of course, The Salvation Army, which does so much good, accepted a trailer full of goods.

Members of our Holy Rollers bake sale team delivered some kitchen-crafted goodness to Samaritan House in Kalispell to supplement its feeding program for residents.

Our social hall is quiet now, but echos of camaraderie, partnership, and cooperation linger. We can’t wait to do it again!

HEARD IT THROUGH THE GRAPEVINE
Our 2026 Rags-to-Riches Rummage & Bake Sale is in the history books, and while we're still tabulating our results, it's clear this was a record-breaking year! Many thanks to our donors, shoppers, volunteers, and community groups who made it possible, and for everyone who helped us spread the word by sharing our page and promoting us on theirs, posting fliers, and telling their families and friends.

Special shout out to morning DJ Brian Miskimins at Anderson Broadcasting's BIG 100 radio station, on-air personality Mike Hammer's Community Spotlight program at KOFI radio, the Bee family of radio stations, and the Daily Interlake family of newspapers, for promoting our event on their programs and pages. We are so grateful for your support and partnership!

Our Holy Rollers bake sale team used their trusty rolling pins to bake over 120 pies for our annual Rags-to-Riches Rummage & Bake Sale.

We have traditional Montana favorites like cherry and huckleberry, as well as a huge array of fruit, nut and specialty pies. All freshly baked, kitchen crafted, and ready for you to share with friends and loved ones! Comment your favorite pie below!

It was a busy two days! Our Holy Rollers bake sale team broke out their rolling pins and assembled more than 50 pies for our annual Rags-to-Riches Rummage & Bake Sale next week. And that’s just for starters!

We’ll have traditional Montana favorites like cherry and huckleberry, as well as a dizzying array of fruit, nut and specialty pies. All freshly baked and ready for you to share with friends and loved ones. Or you can tuck it away for yourself!

The countdown is on! Only 28 more days until the 19th annual Rags-to-Riches Rummage & Bake Sale opens its doors at St. John Paul II Catholic Church! The sale is June 12 & 13, starting at 8 am each day.

We are so excited for you to see this year's selection of great stuff -- everything from furniture to tools, books to toys, housewares to clothing, and home decor to recreational gear. And of course, we'll be back with the best bake sale in the Valley (well, we think so!). We hope to see you there!
