What is tomorrow?? Not just any Thursday, but it's Take-A-Break Thursday and time for a good meal that you DON'T have to cook yourself! Or eat by yourself either, if that's what you typically do. Come in on for the free Bethlehem Community Dinner, where community is as important as the food (and the food is really good). We serve from 5pm to 6pm most every Thursday. Trivia for the Smartest Table Award starts at 4:45pm. We love when you sit to eat with us, but you can always take your meal(s) to go, if that works better for you. (Bring containers from home if you can, please.)

This week we hope to fire up that grill again (but have a contingency plan if the weather does not cooperate). Dinner is marinated chicken (with a secret ingredient), southern potato salad, pineapple cole slaw, honeydew melon, and a nostalgic variety of Hostess/Drake snacks for dessert.

Thanks, as always, to Durrell Methodist Church for the use of their kitchen and fellowship hall. And a special shout-out to one of our BCD Crew volunteers, Lisa Peckett, who is an absolute master at finding the best deals in food pricing and is willing to travel to get them. We wouldn't come close to staying on budget without her expertise and time!

Did we even have Spring this year? Most of us have already shifted into summer mode, which means those picnic tables get filled for the weekly Community Dinner! Inside or outside, there's still plenty of laughs, talk and good food to be had by all.

We serve most every Thursday in the Fellowship Hall of Durrell Methodist Church - found at the back door entrance - from 5pm to 6pm. Trivia starts at 4:45pm for the Smartest Table Award. You can dine in or take your meals to go (bring containers from home if you have them, please).

This Take-A-Break Thursday we're having balsamic chicken, roasted lemon pepper potatoes, romaine salad, dinner roll, canteloupe, and assorted cookies for dessert. Many culinary philosophies and wellness practices suggest that a cook's emotions and mental state can become part of the meal, with joyful, positive intentions making it feel restorative and uplifting. Our BCD Crew of volunteers definitely bring joyful positive intentions to your dinner!

Thanks, as always, to Durrell Methodist Church for the use of their kitchen and hall. And a very special shout out to The Junk Lady whose yard sale last Saturday generated a great donation to BCD, along with all of you who dropped a donation in the jar for the assorted treasures you found!
