Funding Available for Local Arts Projects!

The Worcester County Arts Council is now accepting applications for Community Arts Development Grants supporting arts events and projects taking place in Worcester County from January 1–June 30, 2027.
Application Deadline: October 15, 2026.

Eligible nonprofit organizations may receive funding to help bring creative programs and arts experiences to our community. Grant guidelines and applications are available on our website here: https://www.worcestercountyartscouncil.org/grants-mini

What a wonderful week of art, community, and connections! Congratulations to all of our Paint Worcester County Plein Air participating artists and this year’s award winners, including First Place winner Ed Lewandowski for "The Way Between".

A special thank you to our competition judge Laura Jenkins, our award sponsors, community partners, volunteers, and everyone who joined us to celebrate the artists who help us see Worcester County through new eyes.

As we celebrate WCAC’s 50th Anniversary, Paint Worcester County reminds us of the power of art to connect us to artists, to each other, and to the places we call home.

Art has a wonderful way of helping us see familiar places with fresh eyes. This week, artists participating in Paint Worcester County Plein Air 2026 have been doing just that, setting up their easels throughout Worcester County and capturing the landscapes, streets, waterways, landmarks, and everyday scenes that tell the story of the place we call home.

On Friday, September 18, we invite the community to come together at the Worcester County Arts Council Gallery in Berlin to celebrate their work and the important role artists play in our community.

The Awards Presentation begins at 1 p.m., followed by a public reception, exhibition, and art sale from 2–6 p.m. It is an opportunity to meet the artists, hear about the places and moments that inspired their paintings, and experience Worcester County through their eyes.

We were so proud to welcome these talented young artists and their families to the Worcester County Arts Council Gallery for the Summer Academy Student Art Show! Seeing our Gallery filled with student artwork was a wonderful reminder of what happens when young people have opportunities to explore, create, and express themselves through the arts.
A special thank you to Worcester County Public Schools MD, our dedicated Summer Academy art instructors, and everyone who helped make this summer’s “Power Up!” arts experience so meaningful.

Paint Worcester County Plein Air 2026 is underway! This week, artists are painting on location throughout Worcester County, capturing the landscapes, landmarks, and special places that make our region so unique.

We’re excited to welcome this year’s participating artists and share a glimpse of them at work en plein air! Follow along this week as we share their photos and works in progress. And don’t miss the culmination of the competition this Friday, September 18, at the Worcester County Arts Council Gallery in Berlin!

What a wonderful evening celebrating creativity and artistic expression at the opening reception of our “Artist’s Voice” 50th Anniversary Juried Exhibition!

Congratulations to all of our award recipients in Photography and Three-Dimensional Art! Their work represents the unique perspectives, stories, and creative voices that make our arts community so special.

A heartfelt thank you to our jurors, Don Lehman for Photography and Bill Wolff for Three-Dimensional Art, for lending their expertise and thoughtful consideration to this competition, and to all of the artists who shared their voices with us.

The exhibition remains on view through November 1st. We invite you to stop in and experience it for yourself!

Every artist has a voice, a unique way of seeing, interpreting, and sharing the world around us.
Our newest juried exhibition, “Artist’s Voice,” brings together photography and three-dimensional works that reflect the stories, experiences, inspirations, and perspectives of the artists who created them.
We are honored to welcome Don Lehman, local fine artist and commercial photographer, as juror for Photography, and Bill Wolff, Associate Professor, head of the sculpture program, and Art Department Chair at Salisbury University, as juror for Three-Dimensional Art.

We invite you to experience these creative voices at our Opening Reception & Awards Ceremony:

🎨 Meet the Artists of Paint Worcester County Plein Air 2026!
Welcome Ed Lewandowski!

A self-taught landscape artist, Ed discovered his passion for painting in 2020 and has since become known for coastal landscapes that capture the beauty and atmosphere of the Delmarva Peninsula through expressive light, color, and composition.

Ed is an artist-partner at Gallery One, a member of the Working Artists Forum and Art League of Ocean City, and founder of the annual Paint Laurel Plein Air event in Delaware.

🎨 Join us Friday, September 18, for the culmination of this year’s event at the Worcester County Arts Council Gallery in Berlin, featuring the Awards Presentation, Opening Reception & Art Sale.
