Social Justice Collaborative is honored to receive a $50,000 Emergency Relief Fund grant from UnidosUS . We are grateful for this investment in our communities and proud to be partners in defending our communities and their rights. This funding will help us keep families together, provide removal defense services, and keep people out of detention.

Since 2012, SJC has grown with our people. We've seen families torn apart, neighbors taken by detention and deportation, and people fighting every day just to stay. The need has only grown. So have we.

The world we need is ours to build.

Our story is the story of the people we serve. It's the story of a mom who can finally rent a place of her own. The unaccompanied minor now applying to medical school. The ones reunited with their families after detention centers and across borders. The ones who've become advocates themselves. We are so thankful to have been part of those stories.

SJC has grown because our community needed us to. We've been here through multiple administrations, because no matter who's in office, immigrant neighbors keep getting harmed and torn from their communities. We continued when the pandemic made it harder to reach people. We grew to meet the need when kids arrived at the border alone, fleeing conditions the pandemic made worse. In 2024 we built our behavioral health program, because legal services alone don't treat the whole person. We took on impact litigation and advocacy because the system itself has to change.

We've done all of it with you.

Now we're stepping into something new. A new look to reflect a new mission. Our fight hasn't changed; it's only gotten bigger, and we look forward to showing you soon.

Our team has seen firsthand how impactful access to healthcare has been for those we serve. For millions of Californians, Medi-Cal is a lifeline, especially those who are aging, low-income, live with disabilities, or have various immigration statuses. Governor Gavin Newsom is proposing to cut care for the members of our community who are struggling the most in his . Now is the time to get loud and fight back!
