How can we stand together when our neighbors are threatened?

Join Not In Our Town for a special screening of Minnesota Neighbors, a documentary sharing the stories of Minnesota immigrants, faith leaders, and neighbors who came together during the 2026 ICE surge to protect their communities.

As part of Stand United Against Hate Week 2026, the screening will be followed by a conversation with the filmmakers and local leaders about how we can stand against hate, support our neighbors, and take action in our own communities.

We're proud to be a community partner for this event and hope to see you there!

On Thursday, ICE agents shot a man in his car while his 5-year-old son sat in the back seat and then took him from the hospital. We keep reading that the child was unharmed. Physically, yes, thankfully. But we also have to recognize the harm that comes from watching his father be shot. The harm that comes to a family and a community watching their loved ones be taken.

Our communities are told to “Be Strong,” to be “Resilient.” We hear it so often that it feels like an instruction instead of comfort. When ICE separates a family, the people left behind are still expected to show up the next morning and keep going.

One of our clients shared: “I’m grateful and happy to remember I got through a situation that once made me sad and worried.” Our social workers created Pláticas con Propósito so our community has a place to say out loud what this is doing to us 🫂

We deserve more than being told to stay strong 💚

Social Justice Collaborative is recruiting a Social Media Intern. This is an unpaid internship role, roughly 10 hours a week, remote with occasional in-person events in the Bay Area.

If you're passionate about social media, storytelling, and social justice, we'd love to hear from you.

💻 Remote with occasional in-person events
⏰ Approximately 10 hours per week

We're looking for someone who:
Enjoys creating content for social media
Has strong writing and communication skills
Cares about social justice
Has experience with Instagram, LinkedIn, TikTok, or Canva
Is bilingual in Spanish and English
