Displaced Roses

Displaced Roses We are an advocacy outreach organization serving those experiencing homelessness in Gaston County. Support our efforts by volunteering or donating today.

We provide a hot meal, clothes, basic essentials, but most importantly hope. Do not forget to show hospitality to strangers, for by so doing some people have shown hospitality to angels without knowing it.

Displaced Roses’ operations have been paused as we pack and transition from our headquarters, that we were blessed to occupy, at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church for over two years. We ask for patience and prayers as we try to adjust with the unexpected change and discern what is next for us. During this challenging journey, we have been unable to receive physical donated items; however, the financial support from our incredible supporters is absolutely essential as we strive to find a new home for Displaced Roses. Please stand with us in this important moment by clicking our Donation link: https://bit.ly/Displaced_Roses and make a contribution today.

We kindly ask that all inquiries about the transition be held off for now. As you can imagine, we’ve been overwhelmed with questions and heartfelt concern from the many cherished clients, community allies, and supporters who stand with us. Rest assured, as soon as we have official information about a new location, it will be shared directly by the Executive Director and also on our social media pages. Our authorized leadership is the only trusted source for updates about where we stand now and our plans for Displaced Roses moving forward.

This donation will help us achieve our mission of assisting those experiencing homelessness. With your donation we will be able to :- Provide Hot Meals - Clothing and Needed Supplies - Support Services - And so much more!

Displaced Roses was featured on a national news program last month, showcasing our work! We are truly committed to helping those who are homeless or in need.

To do this work, transportation is really important so we can reach and support people who need help. We serve hundreds of individuals in Gaston County alone and also assist neighbors across the state during emergencies, like Hurricane Helene, which still affects people today.

Last month, our van broke down and can't be repaired. We urgently need to get a new, dependable vehicle as soon as possible.
Please consider donating to and sharing this fundraiser for a new van to support our community efforts.

🚨We are facing a pressing need! 🚨 Our van, which plays a crucial role in responding to crisis calls, delivering supplies, transporting clients, and facilitating other vital activities, needs to be replaced urgently. Its absence severely hampers our operations. Without a reliable vehicle, a substantial part of our work is currently on hold. Please click our fundraising campaign link to donate and share. Your support is essential for us to continue our work.

URGENT 🚨 We need a replacement of our nonprofit’s van. That van is VITAL for the street outreach work we do; answering crisis calls from community members, hospitals and law enforcement; delivering supplies; getting those we serve to the help they need. We are asking for your help, no matter ho...

March is our Dignity In Death Month.

As I sat in a church yesterday sharing how Displaced Roses impacts our community, one of our precious Roses passed away in the hospital before I could make it to her bedside
The narrative around those experiencing homelessness that die tends to be thought of as some gruesome or unsavory ordeal; but this young lady passed away from cancer.
Diagnosed just a mere weeks before with stage 4 cancer; how you might ask? Because for MONTHS healthcare providers weren’t listening to her complaints about worsening symptoms; all they saw was the past of an unhoused woman who once used substances, apparently a stain that could never be removed in society’s eyes.
But I BELIEVE in a Savior whose blood made all things new; washed away every stain of sin. Jesus saw God’s precious daughter, a daughter that had a heart for him.

These are the lives that your donations touch; real people’s lives. Please help us bring peace and restoration by supporting our Dignity In Death program.

We believe that no one should be thrown away. It is because of this, that we assist with final resting arrangements for our unhoused neighbors in Gaston County; and currently, we are the only local organization that does so. Through cultivating beneficial relationships with all entities involved whe...

What an AMAZING 🤩 Serve Day with Lutheran Church of the Holy Comforter members and youth group at our headquarters! It’s been a year-long vision of this mural project finally coming to fruition for those that we serve to walk into a safe space full of love and hope. 🥰
Many hands make light work. This is community in action; thank you for your gifts, talents and time to serve others.

I want to tell y’all that God is FAITHFUL honey! After a very trying and tiring seven days, and a day of Walk-in Wednesdays at Displaced Roses, I finally had a moment between the last daytime client leaving and the evening ones on their way to open this letter.

God knows us and will send what you need, sometimes in a way that you don’t realize you need it. Let me tell you, people work is hard, it’s draining, and it’s worth every tired moment or heartache that comes with it. I didn’t know that in a season edging towards burnout that what I needed was a word of encouragement. I LITERALLY cried when I read the letter.

Despite what some may think or whisper, my faith is important to me; couple that with my lived experience of homelessness and you’d know it’s my WHY. It does take Faith In Action to leave the security and certainty of a career to choose to follow Christ. It does take Faith In Action to love and bring hope to dark places everyday.

I am so humbled and grateful for these words that the Pastor wrote. A testament to show people pay attention even when we don’t realize. So honored and blessed for a church that stands with us corporately (and each church that has shown us support) as I try my best to live out the Gospel and serve as Christ showed us. Thank you for the blessed partnership Holy Trinity Lutheran Church - Gastonia, NC. 💜
