How can AI transform the way nonprofits serve their communities? At House of Mercy, we just found out.

Behind the scenes of providing housing and supportive services for people living with HIV in Belmont, North Carolina, lies a massive administrative hurdle. Every single month, our billing process takes a team of people, hours of time, and hundreds of pages. Every year, because of that heavy lifting, we run out of administrative grant funds incredibly early in the cycle.

We were fortunate enough to participate in the AI Day of Service event with and . Together, we developed a problem statement and explored how AI can streamline this tedious process.

The results? A total game-changer. We are now catching errors much sooner, eliminating duplication, and saving precious time. Most importantly, this means we can stretch our administrative funds further and keep our focus where it belongs: on our clients!

We are truly grateful to the teams at LPL Financial and Apparo for this incredible opportunity to innovate!

How is your organization or company exploring AI to cut down on tedious paperwork? Let’s talk in the comments.

Tomatoes, cucumbers, zucchini, onions, and flowers — oh my!

We want to give a special thank you to our new volunteer, Dominick, for helping with our garden beds. Dominick planted tomatoes, cucumbers, zucchini, onions, and flowers, helping create a beautiful and productive space for our residents to garden & take advantage of its nutritional benefits physically & spiritually!

& Guess what? He also built an addition to our garden beds completely by hand! We are so happy to have these new additions to our garden and truly appreciate the time, effort, and care he put into this project.

Thank you again, Dominick, for making a difference for our residents!
