🚨 This morning, one of our female staff members noticed a man acting strangely outside our facility.
Moments later, he walked up to our gate, tied a dog to it, and simply left.
Our staff member was frightened and immediately called the police. A police report has now been filed regarding the abandonment.
We need to be very clear: we cannot take on another dog right now.
Since losing our Instagram page, we have lost more than 80% of our funding. We are already struggling every single week to feed, house and care for the dogs who depend on us.
While we are incredibly grateful that this dog is now safe, there is a reason rescues have intake protocols that need to be followed.
We cannot simply have dogs abandoned at our gate without warning. Imagine if everyone did this, we could end up with hundreds, even thousands of dogs being left for us to care for.
As much as we wish we could save every single one, financially and physically, we simply cannot. We are already struggling to provide for the dogs currently in our care.
And now someone has decided to leave another dog at our gate.
We are exhausted. We are overwhelmed.
And at this point, we truly do not know what we are supposed to do.
If you recognize this person or this dog, please contact us immediately. Any information provided will remain anonymous.
Abandoning an animal like this is not acceptable, and we are cooperating with police.
Right now, we desperately need help.
Our rescue is going through one of the most difficult periods we have faced in years, and every additional emergency puts us further underwater.
Please, if you are able, donate today.
We need your help to continue caring for the dogs already depending on us, and now, somehow, figure out what happens next for the dog who was left at our gate this morning.
We are truly at our wits’ end.
Please help us.
