2026 LIBC LIFETIME ACHIEVEMENT HONOREE

Brentwood, Long Island native James “Buddy” McGirt made history on February 14, 1988 in Corpus Christi Texas becoming Long Island’s FIRST ever world champion.

Finishing his career with a stunning 73-6-1 with 48KOS record, Buddy would go on to be a 2x world champion, and was inducted into the Boxing Hall Of Fame in 2019.
