I was able to see some of the art work on display and it was an amazing way to remember the person rather than just the news story - each work had a description written by a family member. I hope to see you there!
CPCBA is currently displaying the Souls Shot Portrait Project and will host open houses on Sunday October 25th at 11:45 a.m. and Thursday November 5th at 7:00 p.m. for the community to come see the exhibit and learn more about gun violence prevention in our area.
Guest speakers:
10/25–Cathy Welsh from HOOP, who lost a son to gun death, and Beth Foringer from Ceasefire PA.
11/5–Cathy Welsh, Beth Foringer, and the Rev. Austin Crenshaw Shelley from Shadyside Presbyterian Church, who is an artist involved with Souls Shot.
The Souls Shot Portrait Project pairs visual artists with the families of gun violence victims, to create artwork that puts names, faces, and legacies to gun death statistics.
Light refreshments will be served, all are invited, and there is no cost to attend. We hope to see you there!
