Faith was never meant to be something we simply know. It was meant to be something we live. The world doesn't need more people who can quote truth. It needs more people who will practice kindness when it's inconvenient. Offer grace when it's undeserved. Show compassion when no one is watching. Love their neighbor in practical ways. 🙏

Sometimes the most powerful sermon is not spoken from a stage. It's lived out on an ordinary Tuesday. One act of generosity. One moment of compassion. One person choosing to care. That's where faith becomes visible. If you're looking for gentle encouragement throughout the week, we'd love to welcome you into our community.

Do you know someone 60+ in East St. Louis who could use a little extra support?

The Seasoned Circle Cafe at Lessie Bates Davis Neighborhood House — one of our valued AgeSmart grantees and partners — is providing resources that help older adults in our region live life to the fullest.

Their Senior Center is built around four things older adults need most:
* Connection. Social isolation is a real health risk for older adults. The Seasoned Circle Cafe creates a welcoming space where seniors can build friendships, join group outings, and feel like they truly belong.

* Physical wellness. From fitness classes like yoga and Tai Chi to workshops on nutrition and chronic disease management, they're helping seniors stay active, improve balance, and reduce the risk of falls.

* Mental and emotional health. Lifelong learning, technology workshops, discussion groups, and a network of peer support keep seniors mentally sharp and emotionally grounded.

* Independence. Meals on Wheels delivers nutritious food directly to seniors who need it, while transportation services, public benefits counseling, and connections to other aging resources help older adults stay in their homes and communities longer.

This is what investing in our community looks like. Tag someone who might benefit, or share this so it reaches the right person.

For more information, contact the Seasoned Circle Cafe at [email protected] or (618) 271-2522.

Take a moment today and look back. There was a time when you prayed for strength to get through a difficult season. A time when you prayed for healing. A time when you prayed for peace, direction, or simply enough grace to make it through one more day. And here you are.

Life may not be perfect, and there may still be prayers you're waiting to see answered, but don't miss the evidence of God's faithfulness that surrounds you right now. Sometimes gratitude grows when we pause long enough to notice how far God has already brought us. If you're looking for gentle encouragement throughout the week, we'd love to welcome you into our community.

At the VPC, we believe safety is a basic human right.
Not a privilege.
Not something someone has to earn.
Not something anyone should have to wait for.

Every person deserves a night without fear.
