Important Reminder: The 603 Writers’ Conference is NOT taking place tomorrow, Saturday, June 13.

The conference has been rescheduled to Saturday, November 14, 2026.

We know there has been some confusion and that a few emails may have been missed, so we wanted to share this reminder with the full NHWP community.

Please help us spread the word to anyone who may have planned to attend.

Thank you, NHWP community!!

Because of your generosity, encouragement, and belief in this organization, we raised $1,255 to help narrow the unexpected funding gap created by rescheduling and relocating the 603 Writers’ Conference.

But the support went far beyond donations.

We are deeply grateful for the kind emails, thoughtful messages, offers to help with fundraising, offline donations, words of encouragement, hugs, and shared understanding as we navigated a challenging few weeks.

You reminded us that NHWP is more than an organization. It is a community of writers, readers, teachers, volunteers, members, and literary advocates who care deeply about keeping the literary arts strong in New Hampshire.

We feel that support. We appreciate it. And we are so grateful for every person who showed up for NHWP in whatever way they could.

❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

In the Home Stretch - Fundraising ends at 5pm tonight

We are in the final hours of NH Gives, and we wanted to share one last note of thanks and transparency.

Today, a community member sent us a kind message expressing support after NHWP had to quickly reschedule and relocate the 603 Writers’ Conference.

She also asked an important question: What is the funding gap?

The answer: approximately $2,500.

That gap comes mostly from increased venue and food costs after losing the conference venue we had used for 15 years. We were fortunate to secure the Grappone Conference Center, a wonderful new location for our writers, presenters, and guests.

But the added cost is real.

The NHWP Board made the unanimous decision NOT to pass that cost along to conference attendees. Writers had already invested in this day, and we wanted to honor that commitment.

So our final NH Gives ask is simple: if you are able, please consider making a gift of any amount to help us narrow the gap.

If donations exceed the conference cost difference, those funds will support NHWP programs such as scholarships, our Veterans Initiative, member marketing opportunities, and other work that strengthens New Hampshire’s literary community.

Every gift helps. Every share helps. Every show of support matters.
Thank you for standing with NHWP and supporting the writers, stories, and literary arts of New Hampshire.

With gratitude,

The New Hampshire Writers’ Project Family

👉Can you help us fund the gap during NH Gives from 5:00pm on June 9th to 5:00pm on June 10th?

This year, our NH Gives ask is simple.

Over the past few weeks, the New Hampshire Writers’ Project team has been focused on one major priority: taking care of our 603 Writers’ Conference guests, presenters, and community after learning that our longtime venue of 15 years was no longer available to us.

Since then, we have been working quickly behind the scenes to notify attendees, confirm presenter availability, help with hotel details, secure a new conference location, and sign a new contract with the Grappone Conference Center.

The good news: we found a beautiful new venue that will allow us to give writers the full conference experience they deserve.

The hard part: the new venue comes with additional costs.

As a board, we made the unanimous decision not to pass those added costs along to our guests. Writers already made the choice to invest in this day, and we want to honor that commitment.

So for NH Gives, we are not setting a big flashy goal. We are simply asking for help narrowing the unexpected funding gap created by this venue change.

If NHWP has encouraged your writing, connected you with other writers, helped you find your voice, or strengthened the literary community you care about, we would be grateful for any gift you are able to make.

Every amount helps. Every gift matters. And every contribution supports the writers, stories, and literary arts community of New Hampshire.

Thank you for standing with us during a challenging moment and for continuing to support the work of the New Hampshire Writers’ Project.

Before you fully slip into summer mode, NHWP has a few more ways to help you keep your writing life moving.

As summer approaches, our team will be taking a much-needed break to rest, reset, and plan for the fall. But support for writers won’t stop.

We have three Summer Marketing Support Group sessions planned to help members stay connected, visible, and prepared:

👉June 17 — Community-Driven Promotion & Cross-Pollination
👉July 15 — Direct-to-Reader Sales & Author Websites
👉August 19 — Libraries, Indie Author Project & Institutional Access

Plus, on July 21, Masheri Chappelle will offer a full-day Write-In Workshop at The John Hay Estate at The Fells.

Members can also continue to find support, ideas, and encouragement from our team and fellow writers in our NHWP Members' Community throughout the summer.

Check the comments for links to the Summer Marketing Support Group sessions and more information.

What a wonderful celebration of stories, books, and New Hampshire writers!

The Epsom Public Library Local Author Festival, held at the end of May and sponsored by the NH Writers’ Project, brought together more than 250 community members for an evening of author connections, live music, food, conversation, and celebration.

Many NHWP author members were in attendance, sharing their books, meeting readers, and helping showcase the depth and talent of New Hampshire’s literary community. Guests also enjoyed live music from Mike Morris, delicious food from The Gravy Train, and a welcoming community atmosphere hosted by the Epsom Public Library.

A heartfelt thank you to Madison, Tom, and the Epsom Public Library team for organizing such a successful event, and to every author, reader, volunteer, musician, vendor, and attendee who helped make the evening so special.

We are grateful to be part of a community that continues to show up for local writers and the power of storytelling.

Thanks to Britt Farrell from the NHWP team for the great photos!
