Democracy depends on participation. But what happens when the opportunity to participate isn't equal?

From structural barriers to unequal access and representation, the challenges facing civic participation in the United States raise questions about whose voices are heard and whose are too often left out.

Tomorrow, join Global Citizens Circle and MCW Global for Closing America's Participation Gap, the next conversation in our Shared Future Dialogues series.

Together with our discussion leaders, we'll explore the barriers that shape civic participation, what we can learn from different perspectives, and how we might create more meaningful opportunities for people to engage.

Wednesday, October 14
12–1 PM ET
Live on Zoom

There's still time to be part of the conversation!

Whose stories do we learn, and whose have been left out?

Indigenous Peoples' Day is an opportunity to recognize the histories, cultures, and contributions of Indigenous peoples, but also to acknowledge that these communities are not simply part of the past.

Across generations, Indigenous peoples continue to protect their languages, advocate for their communities, exercise sovereignty, and shape the future.

At Global Citizens Circle, we believe meaningful dialogue begins with listening. But listening also means recognizing whose perspectives have historically been excluded and making room for those voices to lead.

Today, we invite you to learn about the Indigenous nations whose homelands you live on, seek out Indigenous-led organizations, and consider how you can support their work beyond this one day.

Whose stories are you making an effort to learn?
