Dear community,
We are thrilled to share with you the incredible success of the Liberian Independence Day Celebration, brought to you by Emerging Leaders Konnection (ELK) and Capital Center for the Arts. This event not only commemorated Liberia's Independence Day but also served as a joyous occasion filled with music, dance, and food from our new African restaurant located near Planet Fitness in Concord.
The celebration was a testament to the power of unity and inclusivity, as it brought together individuals from diverse backgrounds in a warm and welcoming atmosphere. We were honored to have Pastor Sampson Davis bless us with his presence and inspiring words. Pastor Davis, who has dedicated to improving the lives of young people, challenged participants to reflect on the importance of unity and leadership. His message served as a reminder that the future success of our community lies in the hands of our youth.
Additionally, we were privileged to hear a moving poem by Chelsea Toenah, which beautifully captured the essence of freedom and unity. Her words resonated with all attendees, reminding us that freedom is like a bird soaring high and unity is the heartbeat that unites us all. It was a truly uplifting experience.
We extend our heartfelt appreciation to Martin, the ELK members, and the dedicated staff at Capital Center for the Arts for their tireless efforts in organizing this remarkable event. We would also like to express our gratitude to Concord City Councilor Zandra Rice Hawkins for her active participation and unwavering commitment to community events that foster inclusivity and bring people together.
Special thanks go to DJ Coolboi for providing an exceptional musical experience that filled the air with joy and encouraged everyone to dance and celebrate. We are grateful to all the members of our community, both young and adult, from Liberia, who attended the event and contributed to its success.
Moving forward, we are excited to continue working with our community, embracing our unique qualities, and celebrating our differences. Together, we can create a world where unity and freedom coexist harmoniously.
