DEADLY NEW DRUG: A synthetic opioid up to 10 times more potent than fentanyl has been linked to at least 55 deaths across multiple states, officials say.

Cychlorphine, which is theoretically 500 times more potent than morphine or he**in, has been detected in counterfeit pills and illicit drugs — and standard fentanyl test strips cannot detect it.

Health officials warn that reversing an overdose from the drug may require five or six doses of Narcan instead of the usual one or two.

Meet Skyler

I am the task instructor for the Lawrence County Youth Mental Health Program and hold a Master’s in Social Work from the IU School of Social Work in Bloomington. I have a strong passion for working with children and adolescents. When I'm not with the LCYMH program I provide therapeutic services at Twin Springs Counseling in Bloomington. I am committed to creating a safe, compassionate space where clients feel seen, heard, and empowered. I’m currently working under the supervision of Sara Farmer as I work toward obtaining my LCSW. Outside of the clinical setting, I enjoy photography and reading.

Meet Zoe

Hello! My name is Zoe Cohen. I am originally from Washington, and I moved to Indiana to join the master's of Social Work program at Indiana University. I have spent time working with children in different school settings, including spending two years teaching English as a foreign language in South Korea, which deepened my understanding of the importance of cross-cultural connection and youth development. Although I am keeping my options open about what to do after graduation, whether that involves continuing my work with children, working in a medical setting, or in law and policy, I am excited about this opportunity to work with children in a school setting because I believe that strong support systems in educational environments are essential for both emotional and educational success. I am excited to begin working with everyone this year!

Meet Gage

Hi! My name is Gage Burk, and I’m a Master's student in the School of Social Work at Indiana University. I earned my Bachelor's degree in psychology from Franklin College in 2023. Over the past three years, I have gained experience working in Applied Behavior Analysis, supporting children with autism and other behavioral needs both in clinic and school settings. This further strengthened my interest in mental health support, counseling, and advocacy for children and families. In addition to my academic and professional work, I am a musician and private guitar instructor. I’m excited to begin my practicum placement with Families Forever and continue developing my skills in Social Work!
