LCCF awarded a $1,000 Vision Grant to WETC Wagler Education & Training Center for the Next Level Job Training they provide through the North Lawrence Career Center. The grant will provide funding needed to refurbish laptops used by students and to purchase welding helmets/face shields and required boots. Congratulations to the City of Mitchell, Indiana! We offered the city a $50,000 challenge grant for their Mitchell Playground Project. In order to receive the grant, they were challenged to raise $50,000 for the playground. They did it and we presented them with a $50,000 grant. The Oolitic Heritage Restoration Fund received a $4,000 Impact Grant for their project "Movin' Out!" In order to receive the grant, the group was challenged to raise $3,300 for their project. Congratulations to this dedicated group on meeting the challenge and receiving their grant. The group will use the funds for the first phase of restoring the Oolitic Firehouse on Main Street. The firehouse roof recently collapsed, and the grant will enable them to remove the debris and stabilize the walls paving the way for restoration of this historic limestone building. Noah Stauser, who will be attending Indian Wesleyan College to study Biology, received a Robert E. Lee Scholarship. The scholarship was established in 2001 in memory of Robert Lee who donated his time and talents to youth organizations, service clubs, and local committees and boards with boundless positive energy in the belief that the greatest gift you can give another is to make them feel good about themselves. The scholarship is given to students who embody a similar ethic and are willing to serve others. Nathan Lee, Robert and Sarah's son, presented the award to Noah.
