Learning to manage money is an important part of preparing for life after high school. Thanks to a $5,500 grant from the Sturgis Area Community Foundation, more students in St. Joseph County will have support as they take that next step.

This funding supports 49 high school financial literacy classes offered through St. Joseph County Intermediate School District's CTE classes. These lessons fulfill Michigan’s financial literacy graduation requirement while helping students build the knowledge to make informed decisions about their money.

Yesterday, our Play4JA Bowling for Financial Literacy brought teams together at Revel and Roll West to help bring JA programs to more schools across Southwest Michigan.

The purpose behind the evening reaches well beyond the bowling lanes. Our teams' support gives more students the chance to learn how to manage money and feel more confident making decisions about their futures.

Yesterday, Sturgis High School students visited JA Finance Park in Grand Rapids for a day of financial literacy and work readiness training!

The new Finance Park curriculum was a hit among students and educators alike, with new hands-on activities and a personalized interface. Congrats to the Mercantile Bank storefront students, the first winners of the Finance Park financial literacy challenges!

Junior Achievement's programs extend far beyond the classroom; take it from Tiffany, a store associate at Martin's Super Markets in Niles!

JA's campaign with SpartanNash is underway today, and when Laura Lutterbeck, COO of our Michigan Great Lakes office, stopped by to talk to the MARTINS team about the fundraiser, Tiffany excitedly recounted having JA in 3rd grade. She said she remembers how much fun she had with the program, even after graduating and starting her career working for SpartanNash!
